If it were my money, and I was Klopp:

      Get Gomes + 90M.
Throw 90M at Dortmund for Auba.

He's not gone, FSG have said he's not for sale.

NWO, owners are telling clubs that their employees have a contract, and will hold them to it.

Players get a huge salary for 'loyalty' with a 'long' contract. If Coutinho, or any other player for that mind,  wants to move jobs, they should pay a penalty, a huge one.

Any way this is going to be the 4th topic on Coutinho, 3 too many in my opinion.

Agreed, but if we're on about replacements, Isco.

Feck all out there mate that's the problem.

I've no idea what that Luan guy we were supposed to be looking at is like but he seems to be a similar style of player.

Saw him play for gremio the other night, he is a good player, plays off the striker and drops deep ziyech is a decent player if a little lightweight

      Bingo.

Find it strange so many mention forwards as a replacement when Phil was going to be playing in midfield.

Isco would be nice, but not too likely. Might as well ask for Modric.

I mentioned Fabregas on another thread. Doesnt have the work rate of Phil, but if Phil goes I'd take him. We need a midfield playmaker. Chelsea might sell him, but probably not to us.

Eriksen would do at a push, but he's not an artist like the wee man. Again, don't see Spurs selling, but you never know.

Best option is turn down his transfer request. Tell him he can go next season, subject to a big enough offer, but this season you are going nowhere.

Not sure who is out there in the world of football, but If Coutinho does leave, I would like us to go down a different route for a replacement. A player that is commanding from deep when in possession, composed in tight spaces with good vision and agility, able to ping balls with accuracy and tackle.

Also, apparently, my friend reckons Goretzka will be the next Sammer, though doesn't have all the attributes i mentioned, but perhaps he would do? :o

Problem for us is on the transfer front that if the rhetoric of this wondow is to be believed, no money in the world could land us VVD and/or Keita. They simply are not for sale apparently. Plus even if they were, Klopp has his apparent principles where he won't overpay for his players (last years excuse.)

All a bit late now and again I'll reiterate, clubs have repelled us this year for players we have unsettled. We can and surely must do the same.

If we take a similar stance to that of RB Leipzig he won't be going anywhere. If we sell him it will be because thw offer became too good and Fenway wanted the money.

And once more its worth saying, Coutinho is our player. Keeping him doesn't make this window a success. We need to improve, not stay the same and certainly not weaken ourselves.

I don't blame Coutinho, his talent deserves to win trophies and play in the best teams. This just isn't the year to move from our stand point, next season he can go with almost all of our blessings. Can't be arsed with the witch hunt though, Liverpool have been treading water for a long long time now.
