Disappointing. All sounded as if his injury was a minor one so I'm really surprised he is not back.

Either one of two things - the injury was played down and it is more serious, or Klopp is doing his usual 'won't play until fit fit' again.

I think it's more likely the latter. Either way, we are misled.

I would like to see the very same line up we had against Watford. Fire them up send them out and if they dont do the business then start making some serious changes to the defence and midfield. Id be getting my chief scout on the phone to find us alternatives to Keita and Van Dijk. We cannot go through another season with no protection from a midfield for a defence that leaks goals.

Erm what??? Did you think the deface was so strong that we could weaken it or something, Gomez was the player who gave the freekick away to Watford in the dying moments of the game which indirectly led to their goal and the less said about Klavan replacing Lovren the better.

Who never give fouls away, Trent gave the ball directly to their attacker for their second goal. We cannot do worse than Lovren plus he knows the German league.

These may not be a European household name but they're no slouches and this is not going to be an easy game. We need a full strength side or we're crashing out of Europe before we even get there. With that in mind, assuming he's fit, I'd be inclined to play Milner at left back purely because of his greater experience than either of the alternatives.

I'm not underestimating them, I just removed the worse players from last Saturday.

Not much point having "awesome firepower" if our defence waves the white flag as soon as they're attacked.

You'll hear no argument form me on that but our defence is normally better than it was against Watford, although its never great, and I assume Klopp will whip them into shape, hopefully literally!

Weaker team, in what way? We were missing Mane at the end of last season plus we didn't have Salah. Only player really missing is Coutinho with his bad back but we can work around that, we'll have to for a while, bad backs can be tricky ;-)

I'm really hoping the Watford defensive display was just a strange first game of the season, plus Coutinho head F**k type of blip, I guess we'll see in the next few games.

I could argue that we are weaker due to Phil not playing but if I'm honest I'm more annoyed that we haven't got one or two (new) class defenders.

Hopefully the reason we didn't see Andy Rob is because Klopp was saving him for this game, but I doubt it. Also, am I the only one who thinks Ward is the best keeper we have? If so than pretend I wrote Karius name down

I think we turned it and carried on going around in a bloody big circle.

Not too sure about my preferred line-up but I'd like to see Robertson or Milner at LB - I don't care how Bertie looked in pre-season, when he plays, Lovren has a mare because he has two positions to cover.  3 Cbs might solve it, then Bertie plays.

Would love to see Solanke starting all season, though, beginning with Hoffmeister.  Going to be a magnificent striker that kid.  And if  he doesn't he'll be a terrific centre back.  We might have an alternative to VVD!!

Quite frankly anyone other than the three stooges of Headerson, Wijnildum and Can can.

Just so disappointed with FSG & Klopp regarding new players & tactics.

Please no Karius for this - too big a risk in too big a game. Drop Moreno ( for either Milner or Robertson, but probably the former as he is less of a gamble.)

Hardest decision is how to get some creativity in midfield. Can, Hendo and Gini should never be a midfield 3 - too samey, and leave us lacking imagination. But who to put in there? We could drop Mane in, and play Kent or Origi wide. Think I would drop Firmino in and play Solanke or Origi up front. Not seen much of Bobby in that role, but he did used to play there, so would give it a go.
