Dodged a few bullets with that draw.

Spartak must be away first and last, so no trips to Russia in December. Obviously that increases the chance of us being at home first and last game, but please no trip to Seville as the last game needing a result.

Our schedule is Wednesday-Tues-Tues-Wed-Tues-Wed.

Yep, chuffed with that group, listened to it on way home and was nervous as fook that we could have got Madrid and Dortmund. Some might pine for the glamour ties but I'd rather play them in the quarter or semi finals ta very much! No one to be scared of and Sevilla were the only team picked out earlier in this thread as a team I wanted us to play (for a bit of revenge). Glad we avoided Celtic as they would have played up for a game with LFC. The mancs probably got the best draw of all the British teams but given we were in pot 3 that was virtually as good a draw as we could have hoped for.

Very happy with that draw!

Eh...would  have rather had one of the big boys, preferably Barca, but it is what it is. Have to beat the best (Madrid) eventually I guess.

I will put it as lucky racer. I really want us to play in KO stages. Its been a long time. The last we played in the KO stages was under Rafa during that magical season when we thrashed Madrid and United in the same week. Big nights are what give meaning to this club. But, one step at a time for me please!

Agree here Billy. We couldn't have had a more favourable draw to be honest, but as you have quite rightly pointed out, there are no easy games in the Champions League.

I'm most definitely not thinking this group is going to be a walk in the park. This is the point in time where the owners now have to back Klopp, he's delivered his side of the bargain, he has given us the platform to attract top players. FSG have to give him the players to sustain this campaign and all that it may entail.

Our squad is too thin for a Premier League season, never mind a season with the Champions League as well. I have always felt that FSG wanted Champions League qualification before they released the money to Klopp, i also think that was the reason they were refusing to sell Coutinho. Had we failed to qualify i feel FSG would have sold Coutinho in a heartbeat.

There are no excuses for FSG now, the blueprint is there now, they have to invest in the Squad or pay the price.

Decent enough draw really - better than I was expecting.  One thing's for sure, we won't be playing Celtic this season.

We were in the same pot as Spurs and look at the group they got!

Onwards to Slovenia, Russia and Spain!

I'd rather play harder teams in knockout stages. Statistics show that teams with easier games in group stages do better against harder teams later on, I put it down to less fatigue and injuries.

Good draw that! Hope we spank Sevilla.
