I know we are all supposed to be on message and positive before a game, but Karius and Moreno is baffling to me for a game of this magnitude.

Moreno is baffling at any time to be honest, and "resting" Mig for this one? I just don't get it.

      Ok, in Jürgen we trust.

Jürgen seems to be dropping out Trent from time to time but I'd have went with him for this one.

I would have went Karius from the start of the sesson so I'm glad he's in.

Gomez at RB has worried me all season so far, as does Moreno playing when Robertson has looked good. Think Klopp has dropped the ball with his selection in defence here.

Yes, but he didn't deliver. His wife and the doctor did  - all he did was held her hands. No feet involved anywhere at all. :)

Not a chance Simon has been rested in my opinion.

      Anyone else buy that?

Very dodgy with Lovren and Moreno starting this match. Matip will be panicking already. Klopp is asking for trouble there already.

Klopp should surely give Gruijic a chance to show what he is made of.

Nope not for a keeper, I mean they don't do much to warrant a rest really do they .

Certainly after 4 games ffs. Souness has got it spot on who needs a rest after 4 games?

Aresenal not playing Lacazette. Wenger is just as stupid. Perhaps, they want to bring him as super sub. You pay £52m for a transfer and put hin on a bench for one of the games of the season? Doesn't make sense.

Basically that you don't 'rest' a player after 4 games especially a goalkeeper.

It's obvious there is more to it & it's more to do with Mig's form other than needing a rest, unless the Boss is bullshitting, which on this one he is ;D

Sanchez and Ozil have wanted to leave so Wenger when he signs a top player in Lacazette, decides to not play them all together when they are all finally available, for a big game to go with Welbeck. Sure, that will help Sanchez want to stay. As strange as when he benched Sanchez against us last season

      Yep.

Nothing to be gained from Jürgen coming on and saying Migs was dropped but he shouldn't expect any of us to really believe he had been rested.

Strange move in all honesty. If Karius plays well does he keep the shirt?

Not buying the resting reason either.

Can see why the decision would piss Migs off but the dynamic of the goalkeeper position is all wrong IMO.

We have two average number ones and both of them see themselves as number ones.

Much easier dynamic where everyone knows where they stand with a clear number one and two in my opinion.

Karius has probably been in the managers office. I'm sure he's not interested in being our number 2 keeper for much longer.

Sooner or later a decisiom will have to be made and stuck to but this is far from an easy game to return to the first team in.

This could be a goal fest today, would rather ease Karius in further down the line (or begin the season with him).

      Wenger is a weird guy.

It's as if he enjoys inviting pressure on himself.
