Well that was a doddle. Great first half, pipe and slippers in the second. We were excellent, Arsenal were dire.

Jürgen's big gamble with Karius turned out not to be. Maybe he knew the Arse weren't going to turn up. I still think dropping Migs was a mistake - why undermine the guy who is still likely to be your 1st choice keeper over the season?

But anyway, at least Karius didn't have his confidence damaged. He looked very shaky with the ball at his feet, but made 2 good punches. To me, the biggest question mark is about his shot stopping, but we learnt nothing about that today cos he didnt have a save to make. No way I would have predicted that stat at the start.

Our MOTM's? Went for Can, but could have been Gini or Mane.
Salah and Matip were also very good, and even my bete noire, Moreno, had a decent game. We were hungrier than them all over the park, and once we got a couple of goals it was all over. Excellent 3 points, excellent performance.

The goalie debate is going to run for a while this season it looks like. Jürgen's got balls making that switch, I'll give him that, even though I'm betting on Migs being back in possession come xmas. Worked out ok today though.

Great 3 points, sets us up nicely for Citeh as well.

How well did Gomez and Moreno play today? They were both excellent

Gomez took a little while to settle into the game, got beaten by Ramsey far too easily but he soon got that out his head and was very composed, assist and started the move for Mane goal

Yep, unsung hero's today, and to be fair that's simply because how good everyone else was. I'm struggling to think of a game where so many players were that close to their best.

A stat I just saw was that Salah had 5 shots, all 5 on target, granted one of those should have been a goal but considering he's just joined he's making one helluva an impact.

It's not so much a question of him coming for the ball, more how convincingly or efficiently he does it.

That is the question, because that exact thing is what is being denied by two chaps in this thread.

All the posters who insist Firmino doesn't score enough goals and that we need a central striker (read; old fashioned stuck in the 80's) have taken a leave of absence have they?

For the record we have 2 (3 if you count Ings) central strikers, but Firmino brings so much more to the team.

Regarding Can, he was away with Germany in the summer, had very little pre-season, and is now starting to find his form again.

Most had Moreno sold and gone this summer after he played so little last season, but it seems Klopp values him and gave him a season of coaching, away from the limelight. Let's be honest, he's never going to be a brilliant defender, but he's a very good footballers who gives our attack another dimension.

Hmm I don't see it that way but if that's the case then I agree with you.

I don't see what it matters though, whether he comes off his line or not, he does not command his box.

      Hi there.

No surprise whatsover to see our front 3 making hay against Arsenal. We did the same thing often enough against the big sides last season n all. Any team that leaves space behind them, we are going to have some fun with - even more so now Salah is there too.

The question has always been about scoring against the bus parkers. Those are the games were I feel we would benefit from an out and out striker. Now maybe Solanke will turn out to be that man, or maybe Origi will come good, or maybe Sturridge will have an injury free season (!). It could also be that Salah ends up being a penalty box poacher in those games - he does have a good instinct for getting into the right place at the right time. But I'd still rather have a proven prolific (fit) striker in the squad than relying on one of those maybes.

In fact that was the only game he made any kind of impact for Arsenal (from as much as I remember). But, that 4-4 draw was a must win game for us to get out hands on the PL trophy that season.

Guys, how on earth can you both have snipes at each other on such a glorious Masterclass of matches?  We were frightening at times.

Just leave it for a different day as we want to enjoy and savour this rout on one of our big rivals.
