      No thanks, you're alright.

Just read your other posts in here and it's going to be a waste of both our time.

You obviously are trying to make a wider point on the owners and the perception of them but pretending we didn't even try for Lemar is laughable.

I'm not sure whether I believe they are spinning PR with their bids (although you could certainly make a case with just a small amount of tinfoil), but I will say I'm pretty confident that they don't have any issue of us having a low net spend and not having to shell out huge amounts on players. Just once I'd like to see this club just completely floor everyone by buying a player that none of us thought we could rightly get.

      Mbappe?

That would be nice, but those kinds of things don't come along often. Keita was close, but not quite. VvD would be another one that would be teetering in that territory, but not quite.

Suarez and Torres are the successful versions of that story, but for everyone one of them there's a Harry Kewell and a Diouf who were considered huge signings for the club at the time.

      Okay fine.

Your post can summarised as following.

      1. I don't see how his position is a priority and today is an important day so he is surely not a priority.

      2. People will trash FSG regardless of the outcome because people want to moan about FSG.

      3. So I just don't think we are interested in Lemar.

Leaving aside that it isnt even coherent because you go from 'he isnt a priority' to he 'we arent interested'... It's all basically entirely subjective and your opinion. Which is fine if you didn't write the middle part.

That middle part where you say it's a lose lose lose for FSG because they'll be criticised no matter what because people are biased would be a lot more compelling if you aren't ignoring Reddy, Joyce et all because it suits your narrative.

As you didnt quite my entire post I will repeat myself, if you are trying to make a wider point about FSG then pretending Lemar wasnt someone the club tried to sign makes you look like a hypocrite.

I'm saying there are three potential narratives in this story and no matter what the truth is, it will be used against FSG.

I personally believe it's the first one (no interest) but it may be the others, who knows.

      I'm missing the irony...

EDIT: just seen you added more. How does me thinking we are not interested make me a hypocrite?

Because you are saying people would find fault in any of the outcomes for Lemar because it suits their narrative.

While pretending there wasn't any attempt to sign him because it suits your narrative.

Anyone watching France vs Holland? Lemar looks absolutely quality, and I can see how he could have replaced Coutinho. He is not all about pace and skill, he is actually very good on the ball, very composed.

Balague has very little credibility. So he's saying LFC never had any interest in Lemar? Ok, right.

That club is going into complete meltdown on and off the pitch...not going to get any better either now that Sanchez is not getting his move.

It's not really suiting my narrative though. I've been giving FSG the benefit of the doubt in terms of signings. If I kept that narrative I'd be saying we have bid 70mill because that shows them to be serious with their signings by bidding so much.

I just don't think there's any interest in this one

So let me get this straight, we back down because we wouldn't pay Monaco's valuation so end up going for the cheaper (and probably lesser player) option in Ox?

Wow, 14 goals and 17 assists last season and looks absolutely quality, but we decided he was too much and went for the lesser and cheaper option... ;D.
