You’re like those Twitter fans aren’t you - thinking that football is just like FIFA game

What makes you think that? Because I think we need at least one new midfielder and we're 10m in the green for transfers this year?

He was less injured last season but still didn't make a big enough impact for me. Lot of games just pass him by.

If he doesn't fancy a back up role then time to move on because it won't (or shouldn't) get any better than that for him here.

And we recouped £75mil. I have no issues with recouping but we need midfielders and we're being told that money is one of the obstacles in the way of us signing a midfielder. People expecting the club to address squad needs is far from playing silly manager on Fifa pal

      1. Who says we need midfielders?

      2. When were we told that money is an obstacle buying a midfielder

      3. Who decides what the squad needs - you or the team of highly experienced coaches , scouts and manager ?

      1. The whole world and two draws opening of the season plus a crisis.

      2. I quoted Klopp already.

      3. Well that's sh*t ain't it. Can't give an opinion because I'm not qualified. Okay well don't ever give your opinion on what you deem to be a sh*t decision by a ref/var as you're not a professional.

One of the biggest bullshitters of them all.

I remember when he first joined Twitter then a while after he stated acting like some sort of transfer guru.

Held his own once called upon and no reason why he can't play as many as Hendo. He certainly hasn't had as many bad games as others . Best presser of the ball we have and against Utd was brilliant in a more advanced role

All true but depends if he is injured or not.

Looking at the list of injuries for every team we are a joke either something is severely wrong with our conditioning / physio team or we have signed a bunch off crocks!

I’m inclined to think it’s our conditioning/physio team.

So many muscle related injuries suggests poor training/conditioning/fatigue related injuries

If he were to leave I reckon he'd end up somewhere like Leicester or West Ham and could aspire to play slightly more often (only slightly because he's often injured anyway) but he'd have the uncertainty of having to adapt and be playing at a lower level.

If he were fit more often and had some aspiration to win the world cup or something I could conceivably see the motivation but leaving for pastures new for footballing reasons? I don't see it. He'll never have it so good working under a manager who rates him like Jürgen who has been patient to a fault. He'd move for more money I reckon but nobody would be stupid enough to put him on a long contract with an exorbitant wage as they simply wouldn't get the return.

Illness I think ruled him out and missed minor amounts last season. Think we have had a few changes in the medical dept but seem to be mostly muscle injuries

I like him, he's a quality player when fit but don't think he will ever be a starter in the biggest games if everyone else is fit.

Hope that I am wrong, when he runs at defenders with the ball it gives us a different option and creates space. Unfortunately, we don't see it enough.

Just can’t see it being any different from any other season with him. Thinks he’s a top player but you can’t be relying on a player that can’t even do half a games a season.

But last year he did . Maybe he had some special training programme. Matips injuries also seemed to clear up.last season

      New contract is good news.

Been available a lot more recently.

And if he does leave next season, or season after we will get a decent fee.

      Everyone is a winner.
