Naby Keita (Liverpool -> SV Werder Bremen)
      Aug 29, 2017 11:12:16 am
Naby Keita officially signed for Liverpool FC.

      Naby Keita signed

Liverpool Football Club can confirm they have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the future transfer of Naby Keita.

The Reds have agreed a deal with the German club and the midfielder that will see the 22-year-old move to Anfield on July 1, 2018 following the conclusion of the current season.
Keita, a Guinea international, joined Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in 2016 and scored eight goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances last term to help them to a second-place finish.
“I am delighted that an agreement has been reached which will allow me to join Liverpool Football Club next summer, when I will become part of a project that excites me greatly,” he said.
“My commitment to RBL remains absolute for the remainder of my time at the club. I have given my all every time I have worn the shirt – that will be the case until the final whistle, in my final appearance.
“Having my future resolved means I can now focus on helping RBL achieve great things this season. Until I join my new club, next summer, I will remain an interested supporter from a distance.”

Suppose this is the best we could get from a bad situation.

Can't wait to see him running about for us!
Shame he will be the only squad member without a Premier League and Champions league medal next season ;)

      Welcome Naby! YNWA

First time I've watched any of this guys footie, tell you what, he's class, never quite seen a player move like him and have that deft touch. Seems unpredictable so that'll be exciting too. Great signing, pity about waiting for him to come here but at least we got in there and nabbed this potential world class player.

Fantastic player. I really enjoyed watching RB Leipzig last season and he was one of the main reasons - along with other talented footballers, such as Forsberg, and the high pressing game. There's always an element of doubt in any signing, but in theory we've got a player that is perfectly suited to our needs and the way the manager sets us to play.

Seen this on twitter last night, which highlights what a proper midfielder Keita is. Can't wait to see him in a red shirt.

Apparently he wears the number now so it is very likely he will get to wear it at Anfield.

Enjoyed watching them too. Like Red Bull's involvement in f1 I was really cynical about their involvement in football but like motorsport they've erased all doubts and have already displayed an impressive ambition to develop great youth talent, Keita being a prime example of it. With all the money the Red Bull corp has they could just be another Man City/Chelsea type club for glory seeking scum owners but they're the very antidote of what City and Chelsea are doing.

Yep, all for incredibly low prices in the scheme of things, great to grow the name of the club in Africa too, lots of little African Reds right now!

      £35m for Mane, he's £100m right now.
      £38m for Salah, he's £70m
      £51m for Keita, he's £100m too imo.

      Fantastic work to be honest.

I think Mane would cost more than that tbh.

Fantastic goal that, can't wait to see him scoring those for LFC.

      Honest question:

Which clubs do African players actually aspire to play? I have seen a lot of Chelsea/Arsenal jerseys in Africa. But, are they inclined towards English clubs or Spanish clubs?

I'm gonna take a wild stab in the dark and say LFC... :D

Other than that I've no idea mate, there's not a natural progression for them like South American to Real/Barca as I think your question wants to know but I could be wrong, haven't actually followed the top African stars to know.

      Haha.
Actually that is where I was going. Asians are more inclined towards English clubs (For example, Kagawa, Parki Ji-Sung et al). But truth be told, Asia is irrelevant in club football.  I would assume that Australians would want to play for England because of the obvious connection (but, they are also not that relevant in club football, similarly Americans :D). South Americans aspire to play for the Spanish clubs etc...

That is against Libya, hardly makes him Pelle. He will be a good player but keep a level head about best in the league.

Might be BS but thought I read there was some clause in the contract that if RBL get knocked out in the group stages we can get him in January.

      Fingers crossed!
