Keita not having the best of games. Has been playing right attack, but after 40 mins, he is moved centrally. Finally get to see how he does 2nd half in his natural position.

Doing better now! What an assist that was!

Can't WAIT to see this lad in the famous red shirt!!!!!

Meh, not the best of games. I think he was shafted on the left 2nd half, and with 15 mins to go, he was pretty much up top ;D. I don't understand why you wouldn't play your best player in his natural position (6 or 8 role) AWAY from home... baffling stuff.

So, I have come to a final conclusion that Keita is best in a midfield two as an 8 or 6 in a 442 or 4213 formatiom, that or as a #6 in a 433. I just don't think we'll get the best out of him as a supporting right or left midfield role in a 433. He needs to be on the ball centrally where he can demand, dictate and become more the focal point.

Well seeing how Gini was a 10 and has been converted to a 6/8...Salah was a winger and is being turned into a striker and Mane is  more and more is being transformed into some kind of #10 it will be interesting to see what Klopp has in store for Keita.

Yeah, you can add Can to that list too, never thought he could play as a box-boxer 8!

With Keita, he is pretty special playing deep and driving at the opposition, similar to what Can does but with end product! And if he's not doing that, his through balls and short ball distribution are exceptional... oh, pressing and tackling too!!!!

As much as I love Jorginho, I am starting to question whether we should look into buying him or a #6.

I wonder why would you have that doubt? Jorginho would be like the Stevie of 13-14 except with more defensive awareness. He would be like the bow in the team, the launch pad for an attacking move. With his composure and vision, he would definitely bring more than whats on the table now.

On Keita, Leipzig are currently in 5th, 4 points behind Dortmund. Isnt the fee a wee bit different basis their CL qualification (or not)?

Yeah, Jorginho will be a huge upgrade in terms of controlling the midfield, but couple of things he lacks, pace and stamina (you certainly won't see him running around like Hendo/Wijnaldum), so he is vulnerable to the counter, and with us playing so high, I do wonder at times.

However, he is the master controller, and with us seeing more of the ball , I have no doubt he will create a hell of a lot. Another thing to note, Jorginho rarely pings a ball.

As for Keita, he has everything to be the perfect 6, but "unfortunately", he also has everything to be the perfect 8 :D,  but like Jorginho, he rarely pings a ball.

The question is, what do you perfer in a #6 for our team? A pre-injury Lucas (with more creativity), or a Hendo (without the long balls but better distribution and tackling)? I am torn tbh, I don't know :(

Another reason why he would be so good playing deep.... but then again another reason why he would be so good playing as the 8.. ;D.

VVD has taken our defence to the next level, same with Salah for our attack, Keita will take our midfield to a world class level.

If they finish in the Champions League places, the price is £59m, but that drops down to £52.75m if they only manage a Europa League finish.

The fee payable is then reduced further to £48m if they finish 7th or below in the final league standings.

Looking forward to seeing this lad from the bits I have seen he is going to put some real power into our midfield.
Along with Ox we are going to be even more attacking next season....is that even possible

But if they had not played hardball last summer they probably could have gotten around 70. Now as a result they’ve still finished lower than last season, missed out on CL, put up no fight in Europe this season and cost themselves more money.

Do you mean more this summer?

His 48m buy out would have been kicked in this summer.. they wouldn't have had any leverage

No I mean last summer mate, when they were adamant he was staying regardless of what was offered. Like Saints though they kept him and worse off for it whilst having no benefit on the season.

The more I think about Keita, the more excited I get.

Imagine a midfield of, Wijnaldum, Keita and Ox. Would probably be on par or better than the City & Napoli midfield of this season!
