I love this guy, think he'll be an incredible player for us but last night was horrible. Not sure he managed to keep hold of the ball once, and hate to say it but it was almost a case of putting him out of his misery when he went off. Hope it's just the fact he was carrying an injury but his control, decision making and execution was way off.

Obviously it was because he was carrying an injury, you don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce that one

he is nowhere near commanding a starting place from what we have seen recently. Today he was way off and he doesn't look confident either he is going to need time to settle in.

I agree. I am still wary of his role and pinning that down to why he hasn't been at his best.

People talk about our lack of creativity, even some suggesting we should sign a creative player,  but have him play in a more deeper central role and I think a lot may be surprised. From controlling the middle,  initiating attacks to final balls and driving forward, he has everything to play at the heart of the midfield and will give us a new dimension.

I suspect he still prolly wasn't 100% for this game, and came on earlier than expected.

At least some flashes show the potential. He's a better footballer than Gini, Hendo or Milly. He will start soon, but right now he's not ready. Fabinho is far more concerning for he didn't even show flashes.

But I watched him in preseason with us. And when I look how quickly real talents like Salah or Mané were integrated then I wonder if Fabinho can really help us.

How about Ox?  By this point last season, he had barely played 10 minutes.  If he wasn't injured, he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet now....

The point is -- trust Klopp.  He knows what he's doing 😎

How quickly were Ox and Robertson successfully integrated?

I can’t be the only one absolute thoroughly disappointed with Keita?

I thought we were getting one of the best midfielders on the planet!

Turns out he’s alright so far...

Not righting him off but as far as I’m concerned... I’m disappointed

Maybe that’s just tha wait and the ultra high rep

I have been disappointed too , but our tactics seem to be different for our #8's this season, or am I wrong? They are a lot wider than usual, but also act as deep cover for our full backs when they push up.

Like I said before, play him where Wijnaldum or Henderson have been playing, play him in a double pivot or even #10 free role, and maybe we will see the best in him as his attributes are more suited for a more central role.

      Disappointed?

We must've been watching differente players. It's there to see that Keita has the technical ability to drive the ball forward from the midfield in a way that no other of our current midfielders can, even when he hasn't quite been fully klopperised and adjusted to our playing system.

He hasn't hit the ground running, but the quality is there to see. I have little doubt that he will come to be a central part of our midfield for years to come.

How about we display a F***ing modicum of patience before we even consider feeling let down?

Wouldn't even consider criticising the lad at this juncture, it is reported that he is experiencing  some difficulty in adjusting to life in Liverpool.
Give him time on and off the pitch to settle down, the last thing he needs is any negativity at this stage of the game.

No one is let down by him, we are disappointed we haven't seen what he is truly capable of. Of course he needs time to settle into his role, and no doubt he would be in our first team week in, week out, but after watching him play for RB Leipzig we haven't even scratched the surface yet!

Can’t help thinking we need to be a bit smarter with things like this... after what happened at Napoli, just leave him out for City, and tell Guinea sorry lads he isn’t fit. 2 weeks at home.
Sounds far better than flying 3000 miles with a seemingly dodgy back!
