Kind of odd when you think about it. We passed on Fekir because of his injury record and I don't think he's been injured much since?

Moved heaven and earth to get Keita and hasn't been able to stay fit at all.

Fekir had a history of bad knee injuries, Keita didn't.

But yeah Fekir is a hell of a player and whoever built his Steve Austin we can rebuild him bionic knee, or knees, has done a pretty amazing job by the looks of it. He pulls off the sort of 180s that I haven't seen since the skateboard craze of the late 1970s.

I think we were right to pass on him though as we've got enough brilliant players with smashed up knees as it is. It's not worth the risk, although he would have rocked Anfield while he was fit.

When he plays in the PL and doesn't get hurt, then we can talk about what could have been. I certainly do not follow Real Betis, but 5G and 5A is not all that impressive, either. In his last season with us before he "hurt" his back, Coutinho put up 13G and 7A, and that was in the early stages of our rebuild.

Hes made the provisional 33 but along with 3 other full backs.

One of them isn't making it because 4 right backs is excessive.

Who'd have thought at the begining of the season that Naby Keita would make the England squad as a right back

      Crazy crazy season  ;D

      Shaq

      Minamino

      Origi

What's the common connection here? All cheap basement buys. Minamino was a total flop. We were European Champions and should have been in for Haaland but instead ended up with the fat mate.

Reminds me of that time Milan bough Shevchenko and Spurs bought Rebrov because he knew Shev ;D

cheap basement buys??.  I think compared to 99% of clubs around the world these guys are anything but cheap basement.  :lmao: :lmao:

This guy has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the prem because of what he can do when healthy and I love him but sadly if we can sell him then I would say do it. He has reached a point where he is useless to the club.

At this point we're going to be selling at a loss no matter what. Unless Edwards thinks we can sell him at a better price next year then I would say sell this summer. Yes we wont be getting a great price but we also will be lightening the wage bill of his weekly 120k (according to Spotrac). I would much rather we use that money towards extending some of our key guys or simply towards a new midfielder.

selling is fine but who replaces them. These days I am relaxed about transfers as Jürgen can spot a player and Naby needs a bit of luck with his fitness

He's not for us. I would sell him and bring someone else.

It would be the greatest comeback since Istanbul if Naby could turn his Liverpool career around. I'd love it if he could, but I don't think hes suited for the PL.

He has the potential to be a very good player if he could stay fit. He has definitely something to prove.

Naby and Konate used to play together?

Maybe they will form a bond and become Superstars together at Anfield for years to come.

I'd love it if he got injury free and got a run in the side.

Remains to be seen that the club are going to do with him but he's a talent no doubt.

Yep him and Ox same boat bud, we want them to excel in their positions but they both never stay fit long enough to show us their full potential.

      Fkn frustrating!

I agree, it’s so sad that we’re pining for a new midfielder when we have 2 players worth nearly £100m between them and they can’t stay fit.

It’s an absolute joke if you think about it

Agree and two players who have a lot of great attributes as well.

Maybe Jürgen is willing to take a gamble on both of them but it's a risky strategy and if rather we signed at least one CM to replace Gini.
