He has really "come of age" under JĆ¼rgen lets hope he can come back stronger whenever this maybe.

Itā€™s a bit up and down mate and takes a bit of hammer at times.......but all the ā€œitk / insiderā€ ones do tbh......

Not sure why theyā€™d take a flyer on this one without some chat......

OK, I didn't realize they had missed lineups, definitely had the last couple of matches. Does any individual publicly identify with producing the content or is all clandestine?

At any rate, I think we're all thinking in terms of "is it 3 months, 6 months or longer? :-(

I don't expect it to be anything but bad. My thoughts move to how do we deal with this significant hole in the squad in the short term and longer term. Any ideas?

Short term I think the only answer is Gini, played ahead of Milner and Henderson in a midfield three (at least for our two remaining Champions League matches. The only other thing that comes to mind is playing Bobby as an attacking mid in a 4-4-2, but I doubt JĆ¼rgen would make that kind of tactical change this late in the season.

Long term we obviously need improved depth at midfield and forward. Not sure if that is primarily though loan recalls and promoted youth, or transfers in (although we definitely need at least one new midfielder in next year along with Keita, especially if Can is leaving).

I do hope Alex can get back to being a major part of our team. Seems like a top guy as well.

Mirror says 4 months but its upto 9 months in Twitter talk! Absolutely gutted for the lad. Brought such energy and drive to our midfield in the last few games. Hope the rest 3 stay fit for another month.

Devastating for him but right now what's most important is that he gets the best treatment and gets back on track as soon as possible. He's such a tireless worker that I'm sure he'll come back ahead of whatever schedule is set out and he'll come back as good as ever.

So no mention of what type of injury.

Fingers crossed it is not a ACL.

Gutted, can only wish him a speedy (for his injury) recovery, still have hopes. Can't imagine how he must be feeling having that injury at this particular time.

Just heard the news about Ox, so desperately sorry for him, heā€™s become an integral part of our team and he had the World Cup to look forward to. Iā€™m sure the club and all the players will give him all the support heā€™ll need. He must be gutted.
      Get well soon. YNWA.

Just terrible news. Such a nice guy and playing the best football of his career. Hopefully he has a full recovery.

Is this the same injury Mane had when he got hurt against Everton?

We really need to make a push in the upcoming week (Stoke + Roma) where a successful one gets us to the finals and locks top 4. After that we can start resting players and with the CL Finals being a month away hopefully either Can or Lallana can come back and play a part in it.
