Not if the fullbacks go a little bit more defensive and we have speedy Joe or Joel alongside Virgil. I like Lovren but he's not quite quick enough for that 2 CB's rushing back style. e could also make Fabinho a bit more defensive as well, all just minor tweaks to the system.

Your absolutely right...make the two most offensive backs in the world more defensive and cut back on the output so we can add to the midfield tally...makes sense.

Loved seeing him back in the side. Great 2 goals but that 2nd one was out of this world. F***ing Brilliant. Just wish his shot went in against those Untied cu*ts!

Here's a little song/chant I made for the Ox... could do with some better lyrics (feel free to do so) but you get the idea  ;D

(To the tune of 'Black Betty' by Ram Jam)

      Quote
      Whoa, Oxlade (Chamberlain)
      Whoa, Oxlade (Chamberlain)

      He's so rock steady (Chamberlain)
      He's always ready (Chamberlain)

      He charges the ball (Chamberlain)
He really gives it all (Chamberlain)

It'd be amazing if this caught on and I one day heard it sung by thousands during a live game!  8)  :D

Another tidy finish to grab an important 3 points and take the pressure off in the CL group.

I wanna see him play against City from the off but think Klopp will go with his trusted midfield trio.

I just think he scored against them last season, think it was twice, has 4 from his last 4 games, he's in goal scoring form and the more people scoring for us the better.

Hope he starts with Fab and Jordan in behind him.

In the 4-3 win at home two seasons ago, Jürgen went with Gini, Emre Can and Ox as the midfield three. ox scored the opener of course. I think Hendo was injured because he wasn't even on the bench.

In the 3-0 champions league win at home the same season, Jürgen picked Milner, Hendo and Ox in the midfield. Gini was subbed on in the 2nd half, and Ox scored again.

Of course Emre is gone and Fabinho is here now, but I think the only real selection issue Jürgen has barring any fitness issues, is whether to choose Ox in midfield rather than Hendo or Gini

He's awesome ain't he? Would be delighted to see him start against City. Let's bring the 2017-2018 side to this event.  To me this was the moment of our 2017-2018 season:

...and what about our epic league match with them back in January 2018?

The case for starting the Ox is strong!

He is well capable of scoring some cracking goals, as we all know. Hope Klopp has the confidence to play AOC from the start. Although may start on the bench, coming on later in the game.

Didnt he say himself his pressing game still isnt where it can be?

If there's any doubts about that then he won't be played from the start against City,  certainly from a midfield position. Klopp will want a real hard working midfield to combat against City's technically gifted midfield.

I often thought Klopp plan with the middle once everyone is fit that two of Fabinho/Gini/Hendo will start with either Ox/Ketia taking the other spot for a more balanced midfield in majority of our matches while maybe in very tough fixtures he would revert to more defensive midfield of Hendo/Fabinho/Gini. Due to lack of form and fitness issues he really hasn't had a chance to play it out but with Ox coming into his own maybe we will see more as the season goes on just hope history doesn't repeat it self as Ox career seem to been finding form only to suffer long term injury.

Also with his recent call up with the national squad and that hole they seem to have in the middle next to Hendo/Rice that they tried to fill wit Deli Alli, Lindgaard and Barkley that Ox could be perfect fit as would be a similar role that he plays for Liverpool. Plus it would be nice for him to get a game over the international break as he still needs minutes to find his match sharpness.

       :)

There are games enough for everybody in the midfield to start - and Henderson is a vital part of our winning team.

Nah. The game v City demonstrated why the team selection remains as it was.
Played at 100 mph. Constant pressing from front to back.
Ox said himself he needs to get up to speed on that.
