Ex-Club Employee Facing Professional Misconduct Hearing

Former Liverpool FC academy physio accused of sexual activity on club premises

A former Liverpol FC academy physio is accused of taking part in sexual activity on club premises and sending an indecent picture from his company phone.
Liam Kershaw, who was employed as a physio for the club’s academy for almost six years, faces a professional misconduct hearing at the Health and Care Professionals Tribunal Service
The former LFC employee, who worked for the club between 2010 and 2016, allegedly took part in sexual activity with an unnamed person during working hours and on the club’s premises several times over the course of seven months.
He is also accused of sending an indecent picture from his company-issued phone.
The tribunal service has kept Kershaw’s alleged sexual partner anonymous - referring to them only as ‘Person A’.

A summary of the allegations, published on the tribunal service website, reads: “While employed as a registered physiotherapist for Liverpool Football Club Academy, between February 2015 and September 2015, [Liam Kershaw] on multiple occasions, engaged in sexual activity with Person A on work premises and during working hours and sent an indecent image of yourself from your work mobile phone.”

The website states these allegations, if proven, “constitute misconduct, and by reason of that misconduct, fitness to practise is impaired”.
Mr Kershaw is set to go before the service’s Conduct and Competence Committee panel at a hearing in London next week.

The panel will be asked to decide whether Mr Kershaw’s fitness to practise is currently impaired - rather than whether it was impaired when the alleged events took place - and whether or not any sanctions could be imposed.
The HCPTS website says that they could then take a number of possible actions including taking no further action, suspending Mr Kershaw, or striking him from the register of health care practitioners.

A LinkedIn profile for Mr Kershaw suggests he’s been associated with the club multiple times since 2001 - including eight years as a community coach, a four-year stint as a part time physiotherapist and a further five-year spell working as a full-time physio for the academy.

Liverpool Football Club declined to comment on the tribunal.

Could you imagine how many hearings around the world would need to take place for every person that got a blow job in the parking lot at their workplace?  😂😂
