Just highlighting players that are available.
Could well be that business has been done elsewhere,
but excuses shouldn't be accepted if say Bellingham doesn't arrive
and the line "we couldn't do business for the right player" comes out.
There is business to be done out there.

Agree, and i think Rabiot would be a good option (minus agent mommy).

And business will be done, that much is clear. Who gets brought in could very well be a surprise given how the club operates.

It may not be the players that people expect or think but imo itā€™s going to be like 2018 when we brought in a good 4 players

But how many players will be brought in PJ? More importantly how many midfielders?  Personally Iā€™d spend all your summer transfer budget ( guessing 200/250m  with players sold ) on a new midfield.

Granted players are playing bad in most positions but this basically stems  from no longer having a midfield  thatā€™s not only dead on legs but also no creativity anymore. The most important part of any team for me is not defence, not attack but in the middle of the park.  Currently itā€™s none existent, Hendo & Milner are the only ones Iā€™d keep based on loyalty and would only ever use them on the bench and no longer start.

Just look whatā€™s available, Elliott-Carvalho-Fab-Keita-Ox-Thiago-Melo-Jones. 😱 Sell the fcukin lot and those you canā€™t give away and use wages to bring 3/4 midfielders in. I can guarantee youā€™d be fighting for  top 4 again next year.

Honestly,  it would revitalise your squad and the defence/forward line would thrive off it.

The likes of Jones wonā€™t be sold or Elliot or Carvahlo , Fabinho and Thiago

You donā€™t sell 7 players and bring in 3/4

Ox and Naby will leave on a free and Melo will go back to Juve

We will bring in two midfielders minimum to replace Ox and Naby

It maybe three mids coming in

3 might not be enough but itā€™s the best thing you lot can do moving forward. Hope Klopp doesnā€™t listen to me though.  :D

ā€œWhole saleā€ changes of 7 out and 7 in just doesnā€™t happen in reality , itā€™s just not practical

Yeah I know but midfield so so weak it needs major developments. Obviously I know no club would ever lose/give 7 players away and on paper can see why youā€™d expect Elliott and Jones to stay. Hopefully you keep them all though.  ;D

Probably 2/3 experienced and poss another freebie plus a few younger signings. Usual suspects will leave. Might get a few bob back.

      Nabby... gone..nil
      The Ox...gone..nil
      Jones...keep as no offers..on contract till 2027..
      Milner...one year deal...made his debut in 2002..
      Elliott...Keep, no other option
Hendo...Keep but limited use..33 in June
      Arthur...Sent back
Fabinho...Tricky one as I think he wants away...leaves and we might get Ā£25m.ish..
      Carvalho...Keep but no other option
      Thiago...Keep but unreliable..32 in April.
      Bajcetic...Keep

So not going to recoup any decent money from midfield...'Bournemouth are skint'..but in reality only 3 (Nabby, The Ox and Arthur) will be going. That leaves 8 professionals. None of them would get a place in the top 4 in this country or in any top team in Europe.

At some point the club will have to make a call on Thiago.
Fabulous player but a luxury given his injury record and the wages he chews up while not playing.
      He is the Anti Wijnaldum.

He's contracted to end of '24 so he'll probably see out his contract.

But not much left to sell. Phillips..Ā£20m...Kelly...Ā£25m...Timmy...Ā£25m...Gomez..Ā£25m. And Timmy & Gomez might not be up for sale. So not a lot of options to raise funds. FSG will have to dig deep. I know you back them etc. I'm a bit on the fence.

I suppose a Ā£80m could conceivable bring 2 decent midfield players. Poss another Ā£30m or so might just enough but the mid squad is creaking and spluttering Ā£100m + has to be spent. And many would say that's not enough.

Guess we will see in the summer but still think there will be plenty of money to spend in the summer

I've said before but its not just the lack of stamina from a defensive point of view, but to support the attack.

However we play a specific way. Nearly every team has a central midfielder (sometimes two) who actually attacks and makes run in the box or drives through a defence. At least 1-2 midfielders. We have no one but it is tactical. Even if we bring an attack minded midfielder we will need to change the way we play.

Maybe that is why we are looking at Nunes. We need to be less predictable and less reliant on our full backs for creating changes.

Think more likely with sales tbh . Joyce already hints that Bellingham will.eat into a lot of the budget he will go for about 130m including add ons

As little as 150?  that will be a surprise, canā€™t see you landing Bellingham then. It would be a big mistake if you only have 150 million to spend presuming heā€™s going to cost at least 100 million.

Plus sales? Maybe max 50 million?
