Familiar story from us - better side, but didn't win due to wastefulness at one end and mistakes at the other.
Players of note:
TAA - had a good game, carried a threat going forward all game and defended well too;
Hendo - not spectacular, but controlled the midfield;
Firmino - looked knackered. Touch was off throughout and disappeared almost completely in the 2nd half. Strange decision to bring off Mane for Sturridge rather than Roberto. We didn't need to rest Mane as he is suspended in the league, and he stil looked fresh compared with Firmino.
Ox - a midweek game where you would think we needed to rotate, and he still didn't feature.
Karius - his attempt at saving their goal just confirmed my existing feelings about the guy. The pundits were talking about him not moving his feet quickly enough, which was true, but what got me was that he didn't fully extend his body trying to make the save. Or if did, he needs to see a physio, cos my near 80 year old dad can stretch more than that. He just looks so unconvincing as a shot stopper;
Coutinho - MOTM. The decision to keep him is already proving right. Has come back in sharp and , more importantly, hungry. The pundits who were queuing up to say we had to sell him and "you can't keep an unhappy player" will no doubt be queueing up to acknowldge they were talking sh*te.
Back 4 actually were ok, but were only asked questions for about 10 minutes after their goal by a basically poor side.
