This will be tough. A game where we will need to be clinical. That word hasn't been in the Liverpool vocabulary recently however. I'd bring in a few fresh faces. Migs back in goal, two new fresh full backs, Milner into midfield and give Studge a start.

      2-1 Reds.

Rafa knows how.to get a team to be organised and clinical so I'd expect one of those games where we have all the possession and then we let in a sloppy goal...just like most of our games now really. Personally I think this run is a blip. We do need to start putting away our chances now so for me I'd give Danny a go from the start. He's not how Klopp wants to play because he doesn't press like Firmino but personally I don't think it would be a bad thing to leave Danny up there in and around the box. We have plenty to to get the ball up to him for him to work his magic. I like Firmino but he's just not that clinical in front of goal at the moment so it could be Danny time to shine.

Trent had a full game Tuesday, he is just a lad! Gomez is more solid defensively also.

Ox will not start after that horror performance in the League Cup and can't be playing in a three man midfield if Coutinho is part of it.

Yep but it was Tuesday and Newcastle so like I say I'd give him a run (of games).

AOC horror show pales by comparison with Can last night who was utterly woeful. So - yes I hear you - but I'd still like to see AOC get some game time in / off the middle.

Should be spanking the Toon, truth be told they are a poor team. Sorry Rafa.
Only thing to be careful would be set pieces as they're CB Laschelles is a threat.

Migs will obviously come back in and I expect Gomez and Robertson.

Can has no right to be playing at the moment, so toss up between Milner and Gini.

Firmino is on a poor run so Solanke and Sturridge should share the workload as I doubt Danny can cope with 90mins.

Firmino and Sturridge were both woeful last night so it's a toss up for who starts. Probably give Sturridge the edge as he hasn't had that much of a chance this year.

      Can needs dropping as well.

I would consider Milner at right back it's his natural side and he proved for large part last year he could do a job at fullback.

Don't think either Joe or Arnold are ready just yet.

You make a good point both of the youngsters have struggled defensively in the PL.

                                Ward

      TAA       Gomez       Matip   Robertson

      Salah    Henderson  Milner   Moreno

                    Coutinho

                                      Mane

Interesting.  If I was going to "change things up" then I'd go with one of:

      Ward
      Trent - Matip - Klavan - Moreno
      Hendo - Gini
      Mane - Salah - Coutinho
      Studge

      Ward
      Trent - Matip - Klavan - Moreno
      Gini
      Chamberlain - Coutinho
      Salah - Studge - Mane

Embrace the "helter skelter" approach and go full tits attack!!

Great opening post but don't agree with 2-1. The kind of football we are playing I think we will better those 90's classics.

Rafa will be well aware of our weaknesses, more difficult to win at Newcastle, although should produce a few goals, at both ends.

It's anyone's what the score will be...flick the dial between 4-3 and it could land anywhere.

Why are you so conservative? It's Newcastle come on. The way we're leaking goals does nothing to suggest that a 3-4 scoreline is impossible.

When it's Newcastle, only a 4-3 scoreline in our favour would be appropriate. Nothing else.

We don't have a great record at St James's park though do we?

Yeah more confident than ever we will leak three goals. It's my prediction.

      1) Rafa's team will be well drilled at corners. He likes to repeat moves in training and players will naturally move into position even when they're not thinking. Dangerous.

      2) our defence is disorganised and each defender including goalie is vulnerable to individual mistakes. Rafa will target their weakness. I remember him successfully playing Arbeloa at LB against Barca to nullify their attack (who did he go up against? I forgot).

It's probably reasonable based on the above. Let's hope I'm wrong. Hahaha.

I am not too optimistic because of Rafa. The man knows how to set up and defend.

But, I will still go for 2-1 to LFC. Only problem is we have to score two because we know we will definitely concede and do have in us to score more than opposition! I hope the barcodes suffer at our hands because of what happened in Europe, i.e. we give them a spanking.

Personally, I would bring in Solanke, AOC, at some point in the game (& not at 85 minutes) to change it up from the usual. I know Klopp will play his usual team. As it is an away game to the barcodes, perhaps bring AOC instead of Gini (who seems to do it at home games but not away).
