The saying a must win game is exactly what this game has become due to our prolifigate finishing.

Liverpool teams of old in Europe would have been licking they're lips at such a fixture.

We should be battering these sort of teams but it seems the team are low in confidence in front of goal at the moment so any sort if win will do.

Could certainly do with the 6 points in these two games against Maribor lets put it that way. 

That would put us on 8 points after 4 if we do it and looking at this group you'd fancy 10 points to see you qualify.

I've got no knowledge of the Slovenian league's strength so can't place the level of their champions but they're unbeaten in their league this season after 12, came through 3 qualifying rounds in this competition and had the same result against Spartak as we did (but lost against Sevilla in Spain) so we need to treat these in a professional fashion, and do a professional job.

Hope the travelling reds have a great time over there.

Maribor at home are not so easy, especially if we shoot like we do lately, but overall we are much better in all places. We just need to score soon and there will be no concern.

Yes a lot of local homemade bears and burger food are very popular atm.

I really would love to see Solanke given a run out, but also, I would like to see if Salah is capable of playing left sided.

Yes, we must not underestimate Maribor yet giving them the respect. They must be good to be in the CL, but we have to remain focus and do what we need to do to come home with 3 points.

I still have some hope for the CL. We will get better over the next weeks, maybe buy someone in January and in the KO modus we could go far. But first we need to finish #1 in our group to avoid the big dogs. So a win is imperative.

I think you can play your best side here and still be set up nicely for the weekend due to the game being on Sunday. I want to see Milner in for Hendo just for rest purposes (outside of the ManU game Hendo played two games on Intl duty, one on artificial turf) and Robo in for Moreno because I think he is better . Robo needs MORE games, especially big ones like these. How else will he grow? Besides, right now he is playing damn good for us and Scotland (when he gets the chance). TAA will probably be the only change from the weekend other than the goal keeper though

Anyway, I have no f**king clue what to expect from this game. Feel like our overall play has been decent of late, but of course the lack of quality finishing has fu**ed us and leaves us ever vulnerable to a disastrous result with the inexplicable goals we give up to teams we shouldn't. The fact our team looked the most polished from the back against United is absolutely nuts - though somewhat explainable by the transparent tactic employed by Mourinho, sadly exactly what he wanted. I picked 3-0 (to us, obviously) in the prediction league, just hoping that there's a good couple goals in us and finally a game in which we don't go f**king benny hill bonkers at the back.

A sh*t result here with a half baked squad would just send the reactors into overdrive I feel. Spurs aren't until Sunday, there is a decent break considering we have a midweek game. I expect a near full strength side myself, besides minor tweaks maybe.

Yeah, I would imagine keeping a core with the likes of Coutinho, Bobby, Salah etc but switching out Moreno for Robertson or whatever - we'd still consider that full strength more or less. As much as Moreno has been... less sh*t? I don't consider him not being in the side a drastic change from "full strength" yet

I'd make a few changes for this one. Robertson and TAA in seems pretty obvious. But I'd put Milner and Ox in there as well, and probably start Solanke and/or Sturridge n all.

Don't see Jürgen making so many changes though, but personally I think a side with the above in should be more than capable of beating Maribor. Be nice to be going to Spurs with a well rested starting 11, especially as they will have to go full strength against Real Madrid ( unless Pochettino pulls a Brendan, which I doubt.)

A lot of people saying the same thing -- this is a must win game.  Except, it isn't.  A draw here, coupled with wins at home against Maribor and Moscow, and a draw in Spain will see us through. 

I get the sentiment -- 1 win in 8 has us low on confidence and a big win will help get momentum swinging back in the right direction.  No argument there, but it won't be dire if we leave with a point. 

Much is being made of our "situation" at present, but the reality isn't as bad as some make it out to be.  We are level on points with Chelsea and Arsenal, and only 4 behind Spurs.  We have also had the hardest schedule of any of the top 6 to date, so plenty of time for things to level out. 

All that said, we really should be winning this game with relative ease.  I hope we see a few changes to keep players fresh and squad members happy, but we need to keep a relatively settled 11.  I'd go for:
