After that morale boosting thumping of Maribor the boys should be full of confidence that their scoring boots are once again aligned with the stars.
Will be interesting to see the lineup Jürgen decides to go with, Milner certainly staked a claim on Tuesday there again the midfield trio of Hendo, Can and Gini have mullered these lot on the last couple of occasions.

They are a good side no doubt however I think this could be decided by our subs.
Stretch them wide and often for the first 60 and esp if Aurier is playing I would get the ball often to Salah as he is a bit of a liability and after the tough game they encountered v Real look at injecting more pace after 60-70mins with the Ox.
I wonder if Poch will stick with the high line where we have really profited previously.

      I would go with

      Migs
      Gomez
      Matip
      Lovren
      Moreno

      Can
      Gini
      Milner

      Coutinho
      Salah
      Firmino

I'm keeping it tight and I agree with your back 5 but my front 6 is....Can,Hendo,Milner,Wijnaldrum,Coutinho,Salah.

Milner will give more protection to Moreno and will give us the edge in midfield. Klopp plays a 4-3-3 but this time I'd go 4-4-2 and play it tight.

Playing these at Wembley should be interesting. A bit more space than White Hart Lane?

Reckon the result in the European Cup this week will have done our lads a load of good. Can't see a great deal of chances being made, but we'll definitely make some and I think we'll be better placed to put one or two of them away following that 7 goal banquet we enjoyed!

Well charging forward taking the game to them with our back 4 playing a high line hasn't always worked. There are times in this league when you have to have a game plan and not just go at it off the cuff and react when it doesn't come off.

Klopp could do with showing a bit of diversity, little bit of guile. Give the defense a bit of extra protection. Been said that Klopp hasn't sorted the defense but probably playing 4-3-3 week in week out puts a lot of pressure on the defense.

Fergie hit most teams with attack, home and away but he always played it a bit more tactical against the other main title challengers. Klopp could do with giving the defense a helping hand to build up the clean sheet count. Milner would give that bit of extra cover.

Though our record against the top 6 is the envy of the other 5.........

How’d we manage that......you know without guile and all that?

      It’s a funny old game.

Spare me the Robertson shouts - that little piss artist Moreno has been spot on this season so he starts for me.  Plenty of time left for him to have a mare and Robertson to get the nod.

Tuesday was one of TAA's best performances this season - but I think I'd still go Gomez at right back - he had an excellent game against the Mancs.

Midfield.  Well out of the 4 then Wijnaldum is arguably the least deserving of a place - but can you make a balanced centre from Henderson, Can and Milner?  It would be radical to put Can behind Henderson but it's something worth looking at.

Up front?  When you break a 50 year European record and smash 7 goals in then let's face it - you can hardly go and change the forward line.  We all know our forwards are total confidence players so hopefully this is the start of a 5 or 6 game goalscoring streak before the next drought.

I'd stick with Karius personally, but our manager's a mad b***ard with the lowest defeat record of any manager since Dalglish 86-91 so he'll probably put Mignolet back in for shits and giggles.

Nothing to fear at Anfield South.  (Apart from Harry Kane with any chance in our area of course)

It's my big birthday on Sunday so I can definitely see a 4-0 coming for either us or them (I'll do a bet on both just in case).

      Milner > Wijnaldum

For the first team I think, Gomez, Milner and Mignolet should start instead of TAA, Wijnaldum and Karius.

Put superglue all over Lovren's shirt and stick him onto Harry Kane.
Do the same to Can and let him deal with that fake Deli Ali

Two teams, similarly matched, imo, in many ways. Spurs still not great at Wembley and open to the counter but is it in our 'makeup' to sit back, soak up pressure then counter? I don't know but I do expect them to threaten our back five more than those yellow cu*ts last week.

Jürgen's starting XI will tell a tale.

Looks like Wanyama is out for this one which is a major boost.

Two managers who like to play football the way it was intended,
Really looking forward to a open fast paced game as they will have a go but we just need to make sure we are clinical.

      Proper test this one.
These guys could easily have nicked an away win at Madrid.
We're off the back of a lot of goals that would have been good for our confidence.
Would expect pretty similar side to the last outing...

                      Migs
      Gomez Matip Lovren Moreno
             Milner Hendo Gini

Hendo and Milner in midfield is a combination that never works for us, we become super negative and slow. Same midfield as midweek please.
I fancy us to win this game by a couple of goals.

I think that you are saying that the team who scores the most goals will win. I totally agree. That's my prediction too, unless it's a draw.

Applying a bit more details, I would like Milner to play. I think he's earned a start in midfield. Henderson has not justified a start I don't think.

I’d like that too but I can’t see Hendo being dropped which is a shame and I’d rather have Milner in there instead of Gini who is invisible away from home.

Looking forward to an entertaining and exciting game, both teams will be cock-a-hoop after their midweek European ventures and I'm expecting a few goals in this one....be interesting to see who Jürgen picks in midfield. Come on reds, lets show these how to boss Wembley!!

This is going to be a cracking game.

      Team I'd go with:

                      Karius
       Gomez Matip Lovren Moreno
                      Hendo
                   Milner Can
           Salah  Firmino Coutinho

Team that I expect is Wijnaldum for Milner and Migs for Karius. If that's the case then Wijnaldum really has to start contributing an awful lot more than he has most of the season. He's been shown incredible faith from Jürgen and has to support that faith after Milly put in a great performance against Maribor.

Tottenham, in my opinion, have the most talented first XI in the entire league, the second best manager in the league too and therefore I make this our toughest remaining away fixture. I still think we'll win it though, the Maribor result should give our lads a big confidence boost and that should relate to a bit more composure at the vitals times.

3-2 is a good shout, but I'm going to go for 4-1 to the Reds!

Man City already look fairly unstoppable in terms of the league.  Even if we were to somehow win tomorrow then that ship would need to seriously run out of fuel in my view.  Quarter of the season gone and they've dropped what 2 points?  Keep that up and they're going to be light years ahead of 2nd place.

If we get beat tomorrow then we'd be rightly disappointed with the return of 4 points from the 12 against Arse,City,Utd and Spurs.

Win, and 7 points out of 12 is good - not amazing but good plus we'll be back level with Chelsea in 4th.

I'd start Milly tomorrow with Hendo and Can.

In fact I'd play the side Luke posted but agree on what he said will be likely.

Need to win this one to stay in touch and I have a feeling we will.

I think that you are saying that the team who scores the most goals will win. I totally agree. That's my prediction too, unless it's a draw.

Applying a bit more details, I would like Milner to play. I think he's earned a start in midfield. Henderson has not justified a start I don't think.

I've watched the CL Real Madrid vs Spurs game and Spurs is a well organised side at the moment, not leaving much space on either wings, but there's a weak spot there, right in the middle just outside their box. If we could stretch their wings and open  up the space in the middle for someone to run into the box, Spurs will be in trouble.

If we can get some fluidity going with our attacking play, spurs will struggle to cope with the pace and numbers. To do that we need to turn possession won into quick transition.  In my book, the vital word is ‘quick’
That omitsHendofrom the starting line up.
Will it happen, I think not, so our attack will faulterwith the sideways and backwards passing again.

Playing against Madrid  would have taken a lot of mental if not physical energy out of spurs. I think we will score a couple and Salah will have about 10 chances. Its whether we can keep out noses in front. Will Pochettino park the bus to some degree.

      70? Haha, happy birthday mate.

After the mancs game I said that all we were really missing was goals and that I think all we needed was one result where everything goes in for the flood gates to open.

Well that's just happened so hopefully my prediction was right and we start blowing teams away again.

Because let's face it we have enough clear cut chances every game to be on at least 3 or 4 goals.

Hope spurs have brought their wellies because there was a flood warning issued on Tuesday night.

      Kane v Lovern Matip. Scary

      5 4 1

      TAA matip Gomez Lovern Robertson

      Salah Milner Can Moreno

                           Coutinho

Come on mate I know our goalies aren't the best but playing with none?

Far too defensive that one and I reckon Coutinho up front on his bill would completely isolate him and take everything good he does out of the game.

I reckon stick to what has worked and go for the jugular.

Tottenham on the road is some real test with our fragile defense. I'd be alright with a draw. The league title is gone anyway, so we play for #3 or #4. Only chance for silverware this season is FA-Cup or CL.

Lets hope they play the same high line as they did last time against us, surely they can't play defensive. I reckon they will score but I think we'll score more, I'll go for a 1-3 win for us.

I’m kinda glad they did well against Madrid.... if they’d have lost I’d have exprected them to be well up for it to forget that.... Im hoping the result has made them a lil mentally cocky and their heads aren’t 100%... and they already think they’ve had a good enough week...

It would be nice to win at Wembley, get our season back on track and start again. This would be a huge result, even a draw is not the end of the world I suppose.
