That's why the "you need time to build a squad" is a bit bullshit. Sure, success doesn't come overnight - "Rome wasn't built in a day" - but if you take too long, then it becomes a vicious circle. You wait for your young players to develop, but in the meantime your best players will ask to leave. So you always end up thinking "what if X and Y had stayed", but you never quite get the top quality squad you were supposed to. That's basically what has happened to Arsenal FC over the past decade and seems to be our future as well.

Coutinho will leave, then we'll develop a few good players, and end up thinking "can you imagine that side if Coutinho had stayed?". And win F**k all in the process.

I do hope I'm wrong but it seems we underestimate our competition.
