Woke up this morning expecting to be proved right and I was!

2 good days for England, 3 good days for Australia.  0-2 and over.

Bairstow is a lot more consistent IMO and you dont want his potential runs being lost due to being stranded.

Bairstow's a lot more consistent with the bat than not just Ali but the majority of the top 5.

It was never going any other way, anyone else who thought so was deluding themselves.
There's nearly 150 years worth of records to back up that England would get no where near a 350 chase last up

We lost it on the first day.
Poor decision to put them in, then backed up the  poor decision by bowling like drains.
That first day we were consistently pitching it  meter and a half short
I can't understand that, even if they feel it's a natural length for them to bowl, we have an Aussie coach and a bowling coach from that part of the world.. what the f**k are they doing not telling them that a natural length on there was pitched up.
The Aussies were pitching it about 5.8m from the stumps first innings, we were at about 7.3m from the stumps

Problem is broad and Anderson as good as they are have got a lot of sway in the team and root needs to be firmer with them then cook was, they don't like conceding runs but as boycott says if you bowl an over in which you get hit for a couple of fours by bowling a fuller length but then get a wicket then that should be seen as a success,  overall it was going to be a battle of 2 flaky batting line ups and not having the energy and drive of stokes. This team has been chronically short of runs at the top order for a long time, 20 and 30 aren't good enough at any level

Seemingly England battling to avoid a 5  0 whitewash, after only 2 Tests. I think poor batting once again to blame.

Doing well so far but this is the key now. Already a drop and a few play and misses at the new ball.

      Dig in lads.

Delighted to finally see Bairstow above Ali by the way. He's wasted with the tail and Moeen had more license a position below.

Didn't think Malan had that in him so well done fella!

Good start to this test from England.  Be interesting to see how we approach tomorrow because they will have two ways to go whether they want to try and win the test or make sure they don't lose it!

Probably don't want to hang about too much with the scoring.  If they are still in by tea then surely that's the time to declare (not that I expect them to get into that position).

      Should get >400 from here.

      Advantage England at the minute.

Got to be looking to win from here really. Bat until tea if possible but a big score will be needed because the pitch looks like a road at the moment. Does a bit with the new ball with the pace and bounce but that's about all at the minute.

Just woke up and I'm pissed off. Foot should be on the throat and instead we've let them off. Could still do something but Australia could also match us and then go beyond.
