On replay looks like the cracks in the pitch did a lot of work there. Either way 🤷🏽‍♂️😂

Also I would edit my original post but the iPhone isn’t letting me so hence the thread spam.

At the end of the day the real urn stays in London so nerrr.

Seriously though even with that mega partnership we have vhance to skittle the Aussies this morning and if we had we'd be 4 down and near parity now. Instead we're looking at an innings defeat.

Ou just know this will be over by Lunch tomorrow.

To be honest i'm not sure how they can call this a sporting contest anymore then if ots as bad as what is being said and the Aussies would have messed this up for themselves if they did go off.

Congratulations Australia.  Much the better side.

England's bowlers fairly woeful on flat lifeless pitches.  The batting hasn't been great principally because Cook is finished and they gave Root the burden of captaincy too early but I don't think batting was the major problem.

England's bowlers are conditioned for pitches and conditions with something in them and this kind of stuff is totally unsuited.  They never look capable of taking 20 wickets in 2 and a half days and if you can't get the wickets then you have no chance.

Well played - can't see past another 5-0 here.

Cheers England - you've ruined a lot of us fellas excuses as to why we have to watch tele for 5 days after Christmas! Nice one.

Oh well, move in to Melbourne and go again, the Australian bowling and steve smith have been the difference,  hope England don't sacrifice young mason crane just for the sake of it, time for broad, cook, root etc to lead by example

Cook doesn't look as interested any more, hes certainly stikl young enough to do it, but is he hungry enough anymore?

Yeah it's been a poor bowling performance really but again its all in the conditions. The batting has collapsed a few times in traditional English style and the tail has been blown away every time.

This is looking like a 5-0 and a few of the established names will now be playing for their futures with questions asked of Cook and Broad in particular really.

Our lack of a top quality spinner and the loss of stokes have also contributed i feel.

It's a shame for the series but at least I can lie in now between xmas and new year. Well done Australia. Much the better side in the series.

May as well try some other players now with no pressure on them, every one expects a 5-0 thrashing so you may as well get thrashed trying out some new players because the current team have tried and failed. Cook in particular needs to be binned, he adds zero to the team and its always a bad idea to have an ex captain in the team unless they are exceptional players.

Yeah usually love sitting up Chrimbo night going into Boxing Day watching the first day's play at MCG. F**k all to play for this time, unless of course we're trying to avoid a whitewash and at the moment that still looks a distinct possibility.

the Australian bowling and steve smith

Disagree about the Aussie bowling. It's not been amazing. We've got a poor batting tail and Cook and Root have been poor. New lads have done fairly well.

England's bowling is the primary cause of failure in this series. We hit 600+ runs in the last test and lost by an innings. That's a failure by bowlers.

That will be England's one good day of this test match then!

Did well with that appeal for the lbw - don't think even the English commentators thought it was out until the review.

Powered through the tail like they should have done all series and fair play to Cook on getting himself a ton.  A farewell one probably.

England looking well placed so I fully expect them to lose the next 8 wickets for about 100 runs!

      But we live in hope.

James Vince and Malan both out bat before wicket.

Mad that they didn't review because they couldn't feel themselves hitting a cricket ball travelling at 90mph!

      England given two own-goals away.

Great couple of days for England, finally. This Aussie team doesn't deserve to whitewash this series, would paper over some large cracks if they did I feel. I'd love it of course :D But really, they ain't that great. Nice to see the English can bat and bowl on a shitty pitch with a shitty ball, though ;)

This is England. They will go on to lose this game somehow.

But seriously I think Anderson hit on something when he said Australia managed to kept their 3 quicks fit for the first 3 games. The depth doesn't look there for Australia.

Stark made me laugh struggling to comprehend that statement because the Aussie depth had not been tested.

Without Stark the whole dynamic of the series has changed IMO. England could go on to lose this 3-2 where previously it was looking like 5-0.

Have to admit to struggling to stay interested now though. Feels a little bit like making Federer play 5 sets when hes 3-0 up.
