Exactly, puts them firmly back in their place. Job done.

A point on Henderson. I am one of his biggest critics and have been disappointed in most of his play since the ‘nearly’ season. However tonight tonight he was excellent, played a proper 9/10. He did not give Bournemouth an ounce of space and when he did win it (countless of times) he looked direct and moved forward.

Who knows, maybe he’s dived on to social media when dropped for the last game and read the comments about him because he was full of positivity today (instead of the usual passive play).

Fair play to him, hopefully we see the same on Friday!

It seems that Henderson relies on certain combinations in midfield for him to work. With AOO rising in prominence along with a returning Lallana then he can still make something out of this season. The prospect of Can and Henderson starting regularly together again seems to be fading faster than the mid winter sun which that can only be a good thing.

Fascinated to see how Henderson and the whole team performs against Arsenal at the Emirates. Could be a very very open match that.

Agreed mate. Henderson and Can together is a big no.

Arsenal is going to be a strange game because they’re going to be open (like usual). Surely that means we’ll stick a few away but that also means our defence will be under serious pressure at certain points during the game.

Arsenal are due a result against us, just hope it’s not on friday.

Why can't we play like that at home?

I know it's a cliche thing to say but the recent away performances against West Ham,Stoke,Brighton and now Bournemouth have been world class...yielding 16 goals !!
Probably down to the fact in all of those games there were no buses on the pitch yet at Anfield it's like a National Express depot !

Fair play to Bournemouth today they had a go and didn't sit back which made our life a lot easier but you could see after half an hour there was only one team in it.

Thought Andy Robertson had his best game for the club so far..so I've given him my motm -  His link up play was brilliant and he was up and down that left hand side all game. With Moreno out for a while Its good to know he's settling into that role and the opportunity is now there to make it his own.

Good to see Lallana back on the pitch, even if he did pick up a daft yellow within two minutes ;D
Ings had hard luck too with that chance not long after he came on.
Chamberlain played well too in fact everyone did..even Lovren had a decent game and was brave diving in for his header for the second.

Play like that against Arsenal and we've every chance of bagging the three points..
I actually feel more confident away from home these days...

They can wait a little longer. A lot of draws between us and them in the last decade (probably the most likely on Friday result at this stage) or so but I'm somewhat surprised to see that we've never truly been their bogey team. A 4th win in a row against them on Friday will hopefully make us just that!

Quality from Ox that, missed the game but by all accounts we were superb.

Will catch the highlights later and comment from there but just a simple well in and well done to all, good away win that.

We may have put them 'back in their place' but I thought they played very well, the gulf in class between our two sides though was the decisive factor. Make no bones about this, put the scoreline to one side, Bournemouth are a hell of a lot better side than the last two we faced, and an awful lot better than their position would suggest. They have players more than capable of hurting us on the break, which makes the result all the more impressive because it really showcased just how good our attacking players are.

As for the game, thought this was Ox's best for us so far and voted him MOTM accordingly. Firmino also ran his little cotton socks off and came a close second. Coutinho and Salah though are on a whole different level to almost anyone else in the Premier League. Real and Barca should be told in no uncertain terms to go take a very long running jump off a very short pier because there aren't many in the world better than these two and we need to keep hold of them if we want to do things.

Very good. That's what I thought we'd get against West Brom - high intensity from the start to go out and bury the previous bad result.
Came out firing, and they couldn't handle us.

The only slight negative I have is that at 2-0 we dropped the tempo and then looked very open for about 10 minutes. They suddenly started getting chances and we were a bit lucky Defoe hit the post. Dropping the tempo at 2-0 is actualy the right thing to do - you can't play at 100% pace all the time - but we have a tendency ( that pre-dates Jürgen) of losing control of games when the game slows down. The teams that win trophies know how to slow it down and just keep the ball, take the sting out of the game. It's something we need to get better at.

Once Mo tucked away the third though it was game over and we controlled the second half well. Good performances all over the park. Couple of our new guys did well - Ox and Robertson. Good to see Ings getting another runout - haven't written him off yet. Gomez is looking more assured all the time as well. MOTM between Mo and Cou - both very good today. Went for Cou just for variety.

One of the days when we have a lot of goals in us.
No Mane, but AOC had probably his best game since arriving.
      The front three were excellent.
Coutinho my MOTM, just about pipping Bob and Mo, who were also on the money. The first goal was typical cheeky Phil, the kind of goal you score out on the street as a kid.
Hendo coming back in bossed the middle. Gini did fine.
And who'd have thunk Lovren would pop up and get a brave headed goal, and keep a clean sheet.
Nice to see Lallana come on and do OK.
      All round good day.
And perfect prep for the game against Arsenal on Friday :)

Assured and composed on the ball. Seemed like he could be a great sub to have coming on when games need to be controlled/killed.

Ox my MOM has been improving game by game and today he was excellent. Lots of passion and kept chasing till the end. Also his response during that interview was class. Thought Hendo had a decent game as a player today but disappointed as a captain that he wasn't in the refs face when Dejan was penalised for a good tackle. Also thought Robertson was lively going forward but I still have doubts about him in defence, their winger put him on his arse and then got to the by line with ease. Praise due to Lovren today as well it was a brave header to take for the goal.

Got booked two minutes after he came on and tried a few of his trademark back heel passes, apart from that he just fitted in down the right hand side...Not sure about the new hair do.

Agree about Ox (but it's not like Phil has done anything to kill the speculation , is it?).

That bit from Ox by itself is something you would want a captain to do....

The tempo of the match had slowed a bit by the time he came on. He was interested, but understandably he's a bit rusty still. Good to see him back on, now to build up match sharpness.

Had Peter Drury and he was brilliant.

Anyways, gave Robbo my MOTM. Really not sure what he could've done better. Was superb with and without the ball. Don't think he got beaten once and we always there to support the attack.

Ox was very good as well. As we're our front three. And Lovren. Hendo was solid, too.

      Great stuff.

Now to beat Arsenal and build a little gap.
