Arsenal 3-3 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Dec 22, 2017 06:45:53 pm
So, there's one more game before Christmas and it's a big one. A huge one. A significant one.

The Reds take on Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

      Line-up:

      The Emirates:

      Klopp's pre-match presser:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n18nh61H5x4

Liverpool: Mignolet, Gomez, Klavan, Lovren, Robertson, Henderson, Can, Coutinho, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wijnaldum, Milner, Solanke.

Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Koscielny, Monreal, Maitlan-Niles, Wilshere, Xhaka, Iwobi, Özil, Sanchez, Lacazette

Subs: Ospina, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Coquelin, Elneny, Walcott, Welbeck

While there are no fresh injury concerns for the Reds, defender Joel Matip and Daniel Sturridge remain doubts for the game and Alberto Moreno is still sidelined.

Adam Lallana is in contention again and Emre Can returns from suspension.

Arsenal have lost Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey to hamstring injuries, and Francis Coquelin is a doubt, but Shkodran Mustafi should be available.

      Did you know?

A few choice facts and figures to impress your mates with ahead of kick-off...

The Reds' next away goal will be their 700th on the road in the Premier League
Philippe Coutinho is in line for his 150th Liverpool league appearance
Klopp's team have conceded only four goals in the past nine PL fixtures

Rather have Coutinho running forward than playmaking from deep.

Just done the biggest double take in history there as I looked at what I thought was the starting line up and saw chamberlain, wijnaldum, Milner and Solanke.

Strong line up.  Plenty of options on the bench.  If we want this, and barring the referee having some side bet on it all, then I think we've got the strongest XI of the two sides.

If Emre and Henderson can tidy up effectively then it should be more like a 4 man attack.  Fair enough dropping Wijnaldum from this point of view.

I wouldn't get too hung up about starting positions.

Coutinho will come deep when he needs to, and drift left at times as well as moving up to support Firmino.

In attack, more or less a 424, and a 451 when defending.

I'll go against most on here and admit I'm quite nervous for this one, especially with that line up. Coutinho tends to go missing defensively when we're under some pressure in this system.

The only slight surprise for me is Can in for Gini. Emre's form hasn't been great, big vote of confidence from Jürgen giving him a start tonight.
It's a really attacking line up, fair play to Jürgen, we're not going there to be difficult to beat or anything like that.
Hope to see Mane play a bit better, sometimes no harm to have a big game to get you well up for it - and at least we have options on the bench.

With Cou, Mo and Bob we have guys bang in form - let's not just beat them, but make a statement and give them a good Xmas stuffing..

Key s how well we defend, can we maintain the defensive solidity of the last 6-7 games? Fingers crossed we can. Personally felt that Ox deserved to keep his place in the team but Mane has a pretty decent record against them so having pace on both wings also makes a lot of sense.

Still reckon we're heading for a 2-2 draw meself.

Most of these players are no where near from Liverpool so don't invest your heart and soul into overpaid players, but lets have fun, watch the show and what will become, will become.

feeling positive about this one. Hope I’m right. Good to see the Fab Four starting. Will give them something to think about. Don’t suppose they thought we’d be that attacking away from home. Just hope it all clicks !
