Virgil just starting to remind me of when your car is maybe past it's best. It's never let you down, still looks the business....but it's starting to be an effort on those long journeys. He's like a classy old V8... but now these nippy electric cars are first away from the lights.

Not sure what he could have done to prevent those 2 goals today. Feels like we're looking for scapegoats and point any random people

It was a poor choice of pass into Mac, but nothing to do with age, speed or fitness. I feel he's got a bit lax and complacent over the last year or so. Think the basic ability is still there, just needs a kick up the arse or possibly some more competition. (Maybe Quansah will give him that, although probably not really this season.)

It was a simple pass. Mac should have done better and Alisson should not be getting beaten from there. Blaming Virgil for that goal is a serious stretch i have to say.

It was sloppy from all three players, I don't think we can blame 1 specific person.

However, both Liverpool and Brighton were playing a high risk strategy yesterday, playing out from the back into a high press, a lot of players were given the ball under a significant amount of pressure. Both our goals came from Brighton losing the ball while trying to pass out from defence.

I thought it was a good game to watch and much prefer that game to watching teams who sit back and punt the ball up to a CF. We must expect some errors with our style of play, while obviously trying reduce the risk of this happening.

We do appear to have an issue starting slowly in games and conceding the first goal. This appears to be a problem for the whole team, not just individuals.

Agreed was a fantastic performance, our really only calming influence down there yesterday.

Ali was starting to really scare me with his play out from the back tactics.

He looks amazing atm. I hate that he will go play for the Dutch now. Just so calm and makes everything look effortless

Though the very same thing mate.
What struck me was his control and confidence, those aspects of his play seemed to have suffered since the horrific injury caused by Prickford.

I think virg is now settling into being captain as well, probably made him focus a fraction more.

I know we haven't been exactly air tight and we still concede the first goal way too often, but it certainly isn't this man's fault. Been world class all season. So calm and smart with how he reads the game and puts his leg in at the perfect moment. Rolls-Royce

Virgil and Konate together are pure class when they are both fully fit. If we could get them a run of games together for the rest of the season and beyond we can have a very strong title challenge.

We are all talking about the problems in attack but all the defenders are playing very well this season (although they need to stop giving away early goals).
