He’s definitely playing with an injury not been as dominant recently

      He's been ill.

Klopp said he lost 4 kilo's while ill, which is a lot for a very fit footballer.
It saps both strength and stamina.

Said after Leicester mate - I think it’s been through the squad.

His form through January was not as imperious as we’re used to either - which is only to be expected over a long season.

Have a feeling we’ll see a big reaction this weekend.

Yeah I think Klopp hinted at it in his presser.

All players have blips anyway, same as all teams.
      I'm not worried.

Welcome to scoring league goals at Anfield.

Now we just need VVD to continue to score goals and Joel to chip in a swell.

Well he's already the best CB in the world imho [would have him ahead of Godin] so he's off to a decent start...

Admittedly I don’t watch a lot of football outside Liverpool but I would find it very surprising if there has been another centre back playing at such a consistently high level since January last year.

He has so many of the right attributes - he's tall and strong and wins his challenges against big forwards, but also fast and comfortable on the ball and can deal with the fast/tricky strikers too. Quick thinker, almost always in the right place to deal with things. Can hit a long pass, and is a threat at set pieces [though getting a few more goals would be something he can improve on]. Have seen him score free kicks, so has a long strike in him too. Still young, but has a super temperament, calm almost the point of over-relaxing sometimes. Is a clear leader in the group, can see how highly the other lads think of him as a player and a person. Know he has only played a short time for us, but I can't recall seeing any CB in red who has so many of the right attributes. Great to hear he wants to be one of the greats.

Would sooooo much like us to win a trophy this season. The lads deserve it. Jürgen deserves it. And need top guys like VVD to taste success - hunger is the best sauce, once tasted you just want it more...

Dread to think how good City would have been had Virgil gone to them. Before Klopp we wouldn’t have had a hope of getting him. Despite all the good signings Klopp has made, Virgil could well go down as his greatest ever signing.

On a frustrating day for us, this man was by far the best player on the pitch.

In fact he's been by far the best player in the league this season.

Felt sorry for the big lad yesterday, put in an exceptional performance.

Blocked everything, cleared everything and made some important tackles when necessary.

The bollocking he gave Fabinho after his misplaced pass was good to see, a real leader on the pitch.

Absolutely love watching him, all the superlatives you could possibly think apply to him. If he doesn’t win the Player of the Season award then there’s something seriously wrong. What a signing he’s been!
