The media as we all know as experts, at this sort of thing. They need to be treated with contempt. Although sometimes easier said than done.

He was absolutely horrendous today and played a huge negative part in all 3 goals.

He was lucky at weekend to escape 2 penalty shouts the second one being nailed on. He needs to do much better. He is better than that

Has come out and taken full responsibility as he should have. Captain of the Club and our "Best Defender" should be doing a hell of a lot better then that!

I think part of why people are not criticizing him as much as some others is that he's been a huge part of the run we've been on this season. Him Allisson, Mo and TAA. With that said, he's been playing some horrid  stuff for two games in a row now and today it cost us.

Edit: I said VVD, Alisson, TAA and Mo. To be honest we could add at least a couple of other names who have been huge for us. Those are just the 4 names that jumped to my mind while writing the post. Also puts things in perspective. One bad game, but this team has been playing brilliant for a while now.

I mentioned before I was unsure about him being captain with his performances potentially declining but he has shown why I know nothing.

His interview after the game was telling too, he was so proud of the team, that kind of leadership will do wonders.

Back to his best chats, I thought ( like most ) his injury to Pickford put paid to him producing his best ever again, may of lost a yard but still world class.

Not seen his interview but at face value the comments he made seem quite scathing of his teammates while apparently not taking any responsibility himself. I know the media can misrepresent things so will need to listen to it myself later. Anyone seen it?

For me that was his worst game in a long time , some said he could hold his head high but not for me

Also he is captain and I’m not sure if he has that same level of respect etc that Henderson did
