      Yep.

      Rest in peace.

Another event where rivalry should be left at the door.

It's hard to imagine what British and European football lost that day. A terrible, horrific tragedy.

      Rest in peace.

      4 Mar 2018 - 10:47 PM  UPDATED 15 MINS AGO

It is reported the 31-year-old was found in his hotel room on Sunday (AEDT), just hours before their league clash with Udinese.

"Fiorentina are profoundly upset to have to announce that captain Davide Astori has died," the club said in a statement.

"For this terrible and delicate situation, and above all out of respect for his family, we appeal to the sensitivity of the media."

Udinese tweeted to say the match will be postponed and Genoa's clash with Cagliari, which was due to kick off at 12:30 local time, has also been called off.

It is reported the remainder of Monday's (AEDT) Serie A matches will also not go ahead.

According to local reports in Udine, Astori passed away in his sleep at the La di Moret hotel, where Fiorentina were staying ahead of the match.

Astori, who turned 31 in January, joined the Viola in August 2015.

The Italy international had made 25 appearances in Serie A this season, most recently in last week's 1-0 win over Chievo.

When you hear the death of a young fully active sport star it really shocks you. I can't imagine how devastating this must be to the whole of Italian football. Rest in peace Davide Astori.

Also very sad to hear of the passing of Roger Bannister. A pioneer in the world of sport. Rest in peace Roger.

WOW that is one hell of a generous gesture if true, £100k per week for the rest of the daughter's life, presuming that she lives into her 70's, that could add up to hundreds of millions.

      Shocking terrible death though.

Also RIP Sir Ken Dodd, a very very funny man.

      RIP Sir Kenneth Dodd
As a young child i was taken to his show at the Royal Court Theatre, the show started at 7pm and he carried on for 6 hours with us crying with laughter and sore ribs.
He had a little break to allow the Bachelors to perform a wonderful jester and a great man who is going to be sadly missed 😞👏👏

What a life. The fact he even lived to this day, accomplishing all he has, is simply amazing when he was told he never would.
