Absolutely sensational allegation Holgate has made. More so when Firmino had the ear of the referee the whole time and was shouting to him in Portugese.

Him crying wolf should be punishable....no place for that made up bullcrap. He was only doing it to try and worm his way out of what he likely assumed was going to be a sending off...least that's the way I saw it. No one else reacted the way he did and the ref and his jerk off teammates were standing right there as well. Wouldn't be surprised if Fat Sam put him up to it.

Have to have a sense of humour round here mate.

You were right about the midfield though. Very underwhelming. I thought Gini helped some when he came on, but we have some serious issues to sort in the middle.

Great result that. I voted for Robertson as motm coz i thought he had his best game last night. Excellent wide play and defensive cover. Also made up for VVD with his debut and winning goal😀

Didn't vote motm for Robertson because whilst he had a solid game, his crossing was a bit off. In contrast, VvD also had a solid game, and scored on his debut. So VvD for me.

Negative: Karius was called upon to do one job, come out for a cross, and he flapped.

All this and Naby Keita to come! If City do not have another freak season next time around, I think we'll win the league.

Claiming racism falsely is disgusting. Needs to be dealt with with as much punishment as an actual racist comment. It's actually a crime called defamation of character , Firmino could seek legal action against him outside the FA if he wanted to.

Holgate deleting his twitter because liverpool fans have dug up old tweets of him calling people Fags, Faggots, batty boys and cock munchers.

      Unluckyyyy

Firmino did not tell him anything racially or anti-gay. I explained it in his thread.

Looking at the footage of the push - Holgate was so cold about it . Not done in the heat of a tackle, or post a verbal confrontation - just a stone cold, im going to push you into the stand .

      And the ref did nothing

Must be retrospective action for that

Gave my MOTM to VVD not just for the debut goal but he just looked so at ease in the game. Barking orders, silky passing and bringing the the ball out from the back...excellent debut goal aswel but Robertson came a close 2nd for me. Moreno is going to have a job on his hands to oust this boy from that LB position. Got a feeling Moreno will be off in the summer anyway now that his mate is off to Barca.

Im bit worried about this Firmino thing, we cant afford to have our most important player banned. read diego's post and i really hope that is the case.

Just rewatched the incident. He says what Diego says, but Holgate reacts to something further that we couldn't see because I think Kenny blocks our view

However, the ref, lallana and Kenny where there and none reacted. If it was a racial slur surely the ref would of sent Firms off?

Ref should also have given that tw*t a card but he didn't. He didn't have the balls to do it, I think he thought that the incident is iver his head and let the face take care if it after the game.

I'm not worry ed about the Firmino thing at all cos in my eyes it was just a reaction to a serious foul. First of all Holgate fouled Lallana for the penalty, soft or not, that should of been a yellow card at least. For the shove he could of seriously injured Bobby and members of the paying crowd so for me that should of been a straight red. There was no racist remarks and no spitting, Holgate was just trying to get himself out of a hole by trying to get Bobby in trouble and that for me should be at least a 4 game ban and a big fine.

      Moreno?

Do we have someone in the squad named "Moreno?"

I think the Oscar should go to Little Sammy Lee for his supposed distress when Virgil scored the winner. Brilliant acting, Sammy Brilliant.

      Karuis...bit nervy...6

Gomez..bit more composure, bit sharper all round..6
Matip..under the radar a bit but got first go to partner VVD...6
VVD....cool enough, didn't try and overdo it on the ball. Attacked the ball for his goal and could of scored two...8
Robertson..Handled Bolasie well and supported well, played well...7

Milner..Worked hard as usual, backs up Robbo, bit to safe at times..6
Can...Lost Sigurdsson for the goal but battled well, better player when he is used higher up...6
Lallana...Getting fitter, quick feet, clever for the penalty, not a dive but gave the Ref a decision to make...7
Alex Ox...bit hit and miss, but becoming our "dead ball specialist"..2/3 great balls in....7

Mane...Poor in the first half, better second half, held his position a bit more...6
Firmino...Played all over the place, works as hard as anybody, could of feigned injury to get Holgate sent off and gets insults as his reward...7

Klopp....7...Brave to play VVD as it could of back fired with a defensive misunderstanding but VVD showed his value..at both ends.

Sammy Lee....99....priceless Sammy...how can you work with Fat Sam..
