                          Migs

         Gomez Matip VVD Robertson

               Lallana Can Chamberlain

            Salah Firmino Mane

3-2 for me gomez over TAA due to Citehs attack.  Can't see them sitting back so they should leave space for our front 3.

we are either going to put in a sensation performance and win 4-2 making everyone confident we can carry on this season with this squad, or we are going to get twonked and panic will set in.

I hope Gomez plays better than he did in the last match. He will definitely be tested. Whoever is the trailing mid, Can, I guess, will need to be solid as well. Yes we can score on them, but we must be disciplined as a team in defense.

      I reckon (hope)

      NB: Team no longer available

No doubt Migs will start, but I pretty much agree with the team.

Wijnaldum is usually quite exceptional at home, so he is a 100% starter, and I have noticed our midfield without Hendo is less gung-ho, so I have no problem seeing either Milner or Can next to Wijnaldum.

As for Lallana, I still don't think he is fully match fit, so I would love to see Ox start, and no doubt they will have the brunt of possession, so Ox along with Mane and Salah will be deadly on the counter.

I think a few may be surprised how deep they will sit. They won't come here and play their normal expansive game. Pep will play it tight, try to frustrate us. There is no must win pressure on them whatsoever. That's not to say they won't attack, of course they will but it won't be with their normal intensity.

Pep knows if he comes here gung ho, he could get well beaten. It will be a much tighter, tenser affair, than many are expecting.
As it happens I agree with your selection but Klopp might play Milner in place of Lallana or Ox, to help tag Sterling.

      We'll beat them.

      We'll leak a goal so I'll try for a 2-1.

This is what I'd go with too Racer, and what i believe Jürgen will also, I'm expecting City to be their normal selves but with an air of caution,
They WILL be worried about our front 3/4 no doubt about that at all, and of course we will respect them and be wary of their superior midfield,
For me its about which defence copes better, and with Virgil now having worked with his fellow defender's for almost two weeks i favour our only slightly,
If we're honest, you'd favour city to come out on top, but with being at home and perhaps wanting it more i think we can do them.....

Pepe's a good manager as is Jürgen.
So it's probably going to be the biggest game of touchline chess since the season began..
11 v 11 this time for 90 minutes please ref. ;D and let the battle commence.

Silva's fit so we need to be on his watch big time.

Every Red shirt needs to be on top his his game if we want anything out of this game.

Man marking is not as big a part of the game as it used to be. But should we track De Bruyne, man to man. For sure he can hurt any team. He can do very little in some games then produce a world class pass, such a quality player. Probably next to impossible to mark him out of the game. But he needs to be pressed at every turn.

I'll start crouchinho in coutinho's absence. There's not a lot of difference between the two. I believe he'll do a good job in that role. He's been training well, good with both feet and takes a vicious dead ball.

Great character. Wonderful individual. He already has a strong following amongst Liverpool fans in the largest Liverpool fan forum. I believe he'll be a match winner come Sunday.

       ;D

      Put me in, coach.

      I'm ready.

Whatss everyones biggest concern for tomorrow?

Mine is the midfield battle. Can we get on top there? Will a 3 man mid be sufficent should we go 3 4 3, 3 5 2 , 4 4 2 or change nothing?

Cant help but feel ee can take these but must at least break even in the middle

The midfield is where the biggest gap in quality is, for sure. Our forwards are as good, if not better. Their defence, while gaining a bit of stability this season, can be got at. I’d be a lot more comfortable with Ederson over Mignolet/Karius but,  with the addition of VVD, I’d say there’s not a great deal between the 2 sides defensively.

What worries me is KDB/Silva/Gundogan/Fernandinho vs Can/Wijnaldum/Lallana/Ox. The creativity in that City midfield is unbelievable whereas I don’t have much confidence in any of our midfield to unlock defences (Lallana on his day being the exception). Without you know who, I think we are missing a bit of cutting edge in the creativity department.

What are people’s thoughts on a Wijnaldum/Lallana/Ox midfield? Would we be left too exposed? With Can’s recent form and now the fact he will be leaving in the summer, I have doubts over his place in the first team.

Got to isolate Delph if hes at LB get Mo at him. Difficult to stop KDB and Silva but would look at Can and Gini playing a fairly defensive partnership

      Karius
      Gomez, V.dyke, Matip, Robertson
      Can, Oxlade, Lallana
      Salah, Firmino, Mane

The only weak link in that line-up may be Can. Probably ok to have Gigi partner him and Ox moves to the bench.

      Attack, Attack, Attack. 4-2 win...

Should be a great game to watch, hope that the Reds' are on top form, bringing City's unbeaten run to an end, in the Premiership. Unfortunately I will not be able to watch the game, already arranged beforehand, a day out to the "Twisted wheel" ironically in Manchester., with friends, a top Northern soul venue. Never been before ! Anyway just the Reds win Sunday afternoon.

Why did Tony Conte get shut of Costa....scored 20 league goals when they won the league...52 out of 89 games in total...loved the way Costa played.....panto villain for sure, but he definitely added a bit of spite to game, big miss for Chelsea this season.

Think Conte might have been acting on orders from Abram...
