Sky Sports are reporting that Chavski have given three clubs permission to talk to Damien Duff.....Spurs, the barcodes and the five times Champions of all Europe.

Duff is a great player and probebly cost around £10m, I'd love to see him at Anfield but he seems abit injury prone and I dont know how many games he would play a season,.

Would he be worth a gamble?  ;D

no . i think he was poor at chelsea didnt hold down a proper starting 11 place so i think we could get a better left winger than him !

Duff is a left winger and not good enough for us - when we buy a Chelski why not SWP

I think we want right-wingers more than left.

Unless we bin kewell off, we still have Speedy, Zenden, plus riise and Aurelio who can play there.

If Duff can hold down right-hand side berth then could be worth gamble, hasn't he played there for chelsea and blackburn?

      not another lefty??

If we do want him surley that would mean the end of Kewell? I hope not as I think he'll be a major player next season!

I think Duff would be a good signing for us , Harry Kewell looks to have seen better days and Mark Gonzalez is  still quite young , I think Duff would be a good signing!!

With the options we have on the left: Garcia, Kewell, Gonzo, Bolo and not forgetting Riise and Aurelio can play there too, why would we want a chavski reject? If Houlier could have stumped up the cash when he was still hungry and not a Kings road fat cat maybe, now I am not so sure, I agree with the earlier post, if we are gonna raid chelski why not SWP?

i suspect this is just massive speculation as we are always linked to the 'not quite good enough for chelski, scum utd, or cockney gooners'
anyways rafa would not buy another leftie after raving about speedy for the last yearor so. he's also a massive fan of harry bhai so it would be  a massive waste of money for him.

i do agree with those that think SWP should be signed instead. quick, comfortable on ball and proven in english premier league (also fresh from no german duty)

With Gonzalez I really don't think Duff is required.

Especially not for anything over £5 million.

Think the Liverpool speculation is just a move by Chelsea to get Newcastle to increase their bid.  They love outbidding us anyway.  Still not won anything for 40 years though.

Just read in todays sport section in the guardian we are going in for Duff, maybe its to piss off the barcodes or maybe rafa really does want duff. perhaps this is the end of kewell and rafa thinks gonzo may take some time to adapt, dont know.

do we really need a chavski reject?

He has signed for the barcodes, fair play to them, yet another top-4 team reject going to the toon, they are welcome to him, maybe we can get back on track and sign a real right-winger!

Finally happy to read that we were never interested in Duff, I had snidey feeling we leaving earlier post, that our name was being used by chelsea to get the toon interested, but those beauts sky sports are still going with newcastle beat spurs and us to his signature.

5 million as well, would love to see theie profit/loss for the last two years
how much lost on del horno, mutu, duff, tiago, smertin, parker - all bought for big fees then sold on the relative cheap - they tryin to take our crown for giving away players
