Must also admit, the ref did a great job today, letting the plays flow and not giving away needless cards. Such a refreshing from those FA refs.

You're right, he wasn't fooled by anything from either side (not that there was much play acting), kept talking and let everyone know he was in charge and kept it moving.  Maybe should have carded Milner, but I'm not complaining about that!

If Salah was offside when the James took his shot, would his goal have stood? It came off the post. Does the post vindicate one from being offside?

That comes close to our best ever away win in Europe. Porto top of their league and a very good side so to go and swipe them 5-0 is a fantastic result.

Moyes will be parking several buses...he might need them.

Was alright that wasn't it? MOTM was a tough one but I gave it to Salah because he was brilliant in defence, brilliant in attack and utterly selfless with the ball. In all honesty though it could go to Mane or Firmino or Milner or any of the defence. Flawless performance by everyone involved tonight.

He was at least a yard onside...when Milner hit the shot...he might have been in an offside position when the ball came off the post...

Big win! And we can now rest the squad in the second leg before we play United away.

Terrific stuff! I will be bouncing into work in the morning!

Only if it has made a deliberate attempt to play the ball.

But what a great professional Milner is..last season he was full back, wing back and left winger, taking the corners and taking the penalties, making the tea at half time...all in one match.

Wanted us to get him when Leeds were selling him. Not the most gifted player but he just adapts to any given situation..lucky to have him here.

What a result! We will take that.

Allows us to maybe rest a few for the home leg before the game against United.

      Well, hows about that!!
      Perfect performance?
Away from home. 5 goals. Clean sheet. Complete domination.
      Absolutely DELIGHTED :)
Great for Mane to get back into the goals proper, will do him the world of good.
Bob was excellent, Mo did well too.
Gini and Milner did well, got their tackles in.
Hendo for me was the one just slightly low point, didn't really do enough imho, looked off the pace.
FBs TAA did well, and how much of an improvement on Moreno is Robbo on the other side!
Lovren did well, and VVD is well, he really looks the part ... Karius did well too.

We were patient in that first 30 mins or so when Porto were trying to cancel us out.
But once we got the goal, we never looked back.
Can't believe how comfortable we were, against a side that hadn't lost in ages. We were a cut above.

Take a bow Jürgen. You are the man.

      What the actual F**k !!

I Work alongside a Man Shitty fan who kept banging on today how, after their 4-0 win last night, holds the record for an English team away in Europe in the last 16 of the Champions League, ever !
Holy f**k, am I gonna give him some stick in the morning !! :lmao:

For me personally(and it isn't a dig) but the worst player for us on the night scored a f**king hat trick !!

Ah well, at least the Porto fans can have a nice sightseeing tour around Liverpool when they come over in a fortnight.
You know, the usual, Albert Dock, Beatles Museum, Walker Art Gallery, L1, Two Cathedral's, Pier Head and of course, ANFIELD !

That result was like an earthquake around Europe tonight.

      LOOK OUT !

The passes, pressing, flicks, shots etc were world class and probably Porto didn't come to expect that. Shell shocked. Well done to all the lads. Apart from Salah and Mane I thought Milner and Firminho and the rest did their part very well that led to the goals scored. I would give the NOTM to everyone, but there no such category.

More worrying, there's seems to be something not right between Salah and Mane . Not sure what was that and Milner sort of encouraging  Mane after he has scored a goal suggests something is there between the two. Hope both will close ranks and we'll scare the sh*t out of everyone. Well done. Well done.
