If there's any justification for VAR It's with offside...because its' measurable and doesn't rely on subjectivity.
VAR is essential at senior level, and was shown again during that round. If it was available, that manc goal would not have stood, and justice would have been done on the spot. The very first FA Cup game they had at home without VAR during this decade, and wouldn't you know it, they score an offside goal that decides the game in the last minute.
At least 3, possibly 4 clubs were dumped out of the cup, due to no VAR/GLT available. That's 25% of all the teams knocked out of that round alone.
No part of the trophy states how enjoyable or not the matches were. It just says who won in what year. It was inevitable that someone would pay the consequences for that stupid decision to abandon VAR in the early rounds for the first time since 2020, and sure enough someone did. It's never enjoyable to go out of a competition because of a wrong decision, it's an absolute disgrace it was allowed to happen, and it renders the entire event a waste of time and money.
