Just a reminder lads, that VAR is in operation in tonight's game, to see that justice is done. So all major decisions made on the field, are provisional until play resumes.

      Justice my arse.

Tbh, I thought our goal and their first goal were borderline off. But as I've always said, if a VAR reviews a call and makes a decision, then I accept whatever the decision is, as correct.

For VAR decisions, we ought to be able to hear the process live, or at least read the transcript.

As I've said before, I welcome the system, but it is still open to interpretation and bias. Not sure what solution there is to that issue.. but it is certainly there.

I thought the ref was supposed to check on the screen by the dug out, Kevin Friend just stood there on that first Chelsea goal and listened to the fella whoever was doing the VAR. When free-kick is taken at least two Chelsea players look offside.

Even Klopp took a pop at VAR last night!!

Not sure how you could review this (actual VAR screen) and not make the right call?

The ref doesn't have to go to a screen to check offside calls, that's more for penalties and red cards. He can if he wants, but offside is usually clearcut.

I know what their goal looks like, and to me it looks clearcut, but the VAR reviewed it and must have found a reason where it's not offside. So therefore I accept the decision he gives as correct.

none of those players that looked offside were involved in the first phase of play. They went onside again before getting a direct pass. Chelsea were clever, they beat our offside trap.

As I said initially in this thread it who is reviewing and deciding these decisions and that would be English refs who are in the main, F***ing useless!!

Seriously mate, relax. We all get your view on VAR and dare I say the majority agree, including myself, that it’s good.

But for fucks sake we don’t need a weekly commentary, especially when it makes a glaring error as with the offside the other week and your response is ‘I accept it’, even when the evidence would indicate otherwise.

VAR reviewed the evidence from all the available angles, and found nothing to change the decision.

We do need a round up. With an average of 3 major howlers every week in this league, cheating is still being rewarded, and points are still being won and lost when they shouldn't be. When neighbouring countries can correct the howlers in their leagues there and then.

Not happy with how it has been used since the World Cup...
When it was first rumored to be used it was siad that a incident would only be review if the referee made a decision on it. i.e. an goal that was offside and was not spotted.

Players seem to want a review of everything and constantly surround the referee.

The referee needs to be given more clarity for when the VAR is to be used

Do we need a round up on this forum every week? Probably not, but you’ll crack on every single week of the season posting your round up and get no engagement whatsoever, but somehow you’ll still consider it relevant.

But thanks for ruining another thread where there is potential for interesting discussion!!

Yes we need it, is the short answer.

The long answer is, the round up is one  post per week, of major decisions that were usually called wrong. And there's already been several this week. Hopefully next year we'll be able to put them right, as other leagues do, and there won't be a need to post round ups.

The EPL beaks like to think they're a beacon for innovation and initiative. In this case, they're a reminder of how backward they can be.

In October, at least 6 major decisions should have been overturned with VAR, along with numerous others reviewed. Every week so far, there has been a number of clear refereeing errors.

That would be at least 22 major game-changing decisions called wrong so far, over 100 games up and down the league.
