Yeah VAR is an ass but in this instance it's just following the laws of the game which I dont think anybody agrees with.

Mate because it was a different kind of handball. They’re fella had his arm held tight to his sides a more natural position if you were attempting a block.

I thought they were pretty  similiar in actual play, I wouldn't have given either. Joe is trying to tuck his arm in as he's in a running motion, how is that a F***ing penalty?

Where were Gomez and Kilman meant to put their arms though? They were in a natural running position and trying to move their hands away from the ball. I mean all three weren't penalties but if you're giving two of them then I don't see why the third one wasn't.

They were awful calls and we're now at a point where teams will be coaching their attackers on just looking to hit it at a defenders arms when a pass isn't on which is just absolute sh*te.

That’s the new interpretation though - arm swinging out of natural position” handball. Short memories some only look back to the final in Madrid by your logic where was Sissoko to put his arm then?

It’s a sh*t rule but I knew the moment I saw the replay first time he was giving it. That’s 2020 football for you.

      Big difference between those

Gomez running.... you try running with your arms tight to your side

From memory wasnt Sissoko static pretty much with his arm very wide pointing?

      Completely different

Like I say, try running without your arms moving

99% of the time if the ref goes to the monitor he will take the hint and go with the new decision. Him going to the monitor is purely to sell the decision change to fans in the stadium and players on the pitch.

Only time I've seen a ref stick with his own decision was Graeme Scott last week and he made a real F**k up in doing so by ignoring a clear foul on Hojbjerg in the build up to Brightons goal V Spurs.

I dont think we will see that happen again any time soon.

It's a farce of a rule mate which I expect will be "softened" next season after consistent legitimate complaints over ridiculous penos given week in week out from here to the Summer.

It’s the rule though. Both instances their arm was in an unnatural position. Not saying I agree with it just that I knew he’s giving it upon first review.
