Another Var from Manchester helping city yesterday.

We've had to put up with it for years. Get used to it gunners.

Get VAR gone and set tough on players feigning fouls/injuries. Nothing worse than seeing some muscle bound professional athlete rolling around on the floor for the faintest of touches. Don’t know how the officials fall for it 9/10 times…

Absolute shambles of a day for VAR yesterday.

Soucek handball, Brentford not getting their early goal, the clear offside for their equaliser and then the disallowed Brighton goal.

Until the referees can use it properly just sack this sh*te off. At least before when they made mistakes we could sweep it under the carpet and say it was a split second decision etc. and all move on.

      Move on you say.

You might find it hilarious, but there are redmen here who still hate Inter Milan, because of what the ref did to us in 1965!! 60 years of hatred and rage stored up in a fanbase, over issues that could have been resolved in a couple of minutes with a bit of technology used. The fact it wasn't available doesn't help people to move on.

It's only 5 years since Ramos hauled down Salah in the last European Final without VAR, nothing could be done about it, bar the usual accusations of bias, conspiracy theories, and death threats that go with such incidents. Fans have been begging to face Real ever since, and finally get the chance tonight to throw mud at Ramos. Ramos has moved on of course, but we haven't, so that won't make any difference.

We saw a couple of weeks ago the fallout, when VAR is not used to correct wrong decisions given on the pitch by the officials. Those affected didn't move on at all, it wasn't swept under the carpet, while the match officials responsible were made examples of, and one of them was fired. At the highest level, VAR was essential in 1965 and it's still essential now.

Where the F**k was your equaliser in VAR when Nunez was getting pushed in the box?

You were sooooooo F***ing convinced it would be the great changer, turns out it's the same F***ing clueless muppets reffing the games that are in charge of VAR.

I didn't see the incident and I have absolutely no idea what you're on about, so I can't comment about it. I have not seen or heard anything about it outside of here yet, so it must not have a major incident. But whatever it was, clearly you haven't moved on from it, which sort of proves my last point.

Neil Mellor was the same after the penalty appeal for handball at the Wolves away game, was rejected. Nobody else bar him seemed to care, there wasn't much about it in the match thread here or in the many post mortem debates afterwards either. Apparantly he later spoke to a qualified ref, who talked him through the process and explained the possible reasons why it wasn't given. Mellor says he hates VAR, so he just ignored the advice and insisted that he was right, and everyone else was wrong. When you don't listen to people, you don't learn your lessons.

God I love VAR. In the last second of a match that is 1-0 to Real Madrid and 6-2 on aggregate the following happened.

A Real Madrid player takes a shot and it deflects off a Liverpool player's thigh in the penalty area and then goes to his hand which is in an unnatural position.

VAR holds up play for like two minutes. He recommends a review. The referee barely bothers to take a look and says no penalty.

We are now in minute 4 of added time that was originally two minutes. A Liverpool player dribbles the ball and then puts his hand back and catches a Real Madrid player in the chin throat he falls down holding his nose area. Foul and yellow card. The match is over.

      What a disaster.

Great. A few more soft drink and computer console adverts, that nobody watches, probably had to be delayed from their original slots or better still cancelled, because the ref didn't blow his whistle on time. What a disgrace eh.

When the board goes up, it's a guide of the minimum amount of added time only. Games often stretch beyond the indicated time.

There have been 37 goals disallowed in the EPL this season i.e. 37 injustices have rightly been corrected on the spot in the biggest league in the world, including the big decisions such as the City effort at Anfield and the derby away from home. And I'm grateful we had it then as well.

It only stops when the human element is taken out. When cyborgs analyse the var incident and when droids are referees.

Can’t have one rule for players and another for officials. Lengthy ban at worse. Hell they may even throw the book at him, I wouldnt be surprised.

Can't wait for ref watch today on the Robertson gate tape.  ;D

I'm of the opinion that's the last we will see of him in the PL?

The PL will probably draw some wonky imaginary lines on Robertsons face and show that the match official was actually in an offside position.
And because the referee took action by booking Robertson, thus witnessing the event, no retrospective action will be taken.

It’s how it’s being managed that’s the issue. The technology is fine.

1 error identified per every 37.5 games. Much improved from the rate of 1 error per every 3.8 games, pre VAR.

Like it or lump it, it works.
