      PS4 Help?
      Mar 03, 2018 08:16:03 am
I just got a PS4. Yeah, im a little behind the gaming curve. I bought it as a refurb and it didnt come with a guide or manual. Does anyne know a good book for the PS4? I want to set it up for games, streaming and overall media platforming. Its the PS4 Slim not the Pro. Its got the 500gb hd but im going to set it up with a 1tb external and run it through my surround system for Netflix, and Blu Ray.

You can access all PS4 manuals here: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/manuals/ps4/

And Dolby's page on using surround sound system's with PS4's: https://blog.dolby.com/2013/11/set-playstation-4-great-game-sound/

In terms of gaming, obviously that's pretty easy. Keep the internal storage free for games and just install directly onto that. Streaming services (such as Netflix, Sky etc) are all available in the TV & Video section on the home screen.

When you connect your external hard drive you'll probably play things through the Media Player, which you can find more about here: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/get-help/help-library/apps---features/playstation-apps---features/using-the-playstation-4-media-player/

Very self explanatory to set up, I found - plug it in and it should guide you through, assuming being a refurb it was reset to factory? Netflix is a simple download with the app picture already available in the TV & Video section, just needs to be downloaded. Very easy to set up with internet, whether it be wifi or hardline, and if you know what you're doing with your audio gear then that's a piece of piss as well. A brilliant system. I'm not too tech savvy beyond the basics but I work everything out pretty easily as I go :D Surround sound is great with them as well, currently playing a lot of NBA 2K18 and the stadium sounds and the music with the surround sound is brilliant! Same with FIFA.
