Cracking save! Really liking Karius since he’s come back in.

Top save but his quickness to release the ball is what i have loved the most since he came back in to the side.

Solid half. Played out as expected but we got the break through.

Now to build and kick on in the second.

Superb save that by Karius.  Can't have seen too much of that.

F**k me, what a save by Karius. And for our goal, great driving run by Ox, but even better for not taking a shot and making the pass!

Karius growing with confidence can only be a massive bonus for the big games to come

Honestly, if De Gea made that save, no one would shut up about it. Outstanding.

Poor performance so far but getting the job done so I'll take it. Just need to step it up a bit in the second half and kill it.

I’ve not seen him take the easy pass. He’s made several long cross field passes that were pinpoint. I don’t think Klopp expects Hendo to be a scoring machine. He’s doing what Klopp wants. Retain and recycle possession.

Agreed, indeed out of the midfield three think he's made the most attacking passes.

Also - pace in central midfield. Not had it since Sterling in the 13-14 season, great to have it back with Ox.

Must say, I have voiced some doubts about Karius reactions but that was absolutely world class. As good as a goal.

Agreed, I mentioned it in a match thread against whoever we played last week. He’s the polar opposite of Migs. A part of me thinks that Klopp deliberately phased Migs out to avoid there being a big fuss made over it and the spotlight being put back on Karius.

Easy for us. Everyone playing well. Keep it up. Shout out Karius for the best save I’ve seen a Liverpool keeper make in years.

What game are you watching? He has just changed side with long passes and passed the ball on the ground to player near him.

Never easy against a team parking 5 and quite often 6 across the back.

If they want something from the game they will eventually come out a bit more and that’s when we need to pounce.
No need to expose ourselves being 1-0 up.

Typical home game vs minnow for first 35 mins. Probing until the breakthrough.
AOC did very well with a pacy run forward, created space for Mo, who took AOCs pass and his goal well.
Thought VVD might have dived for a header from a corner missed by their keeper not long before that.
And a world class save by Karius just before half time, great stuff from him after being so quiet up to that.
      Deservedly ahead.
Just need to keep it tight and you have to think we'll get more chances down the Kop end 2nd half.

Another for Mo. WHAT a season he is having.

Spot on. Expecting your #6 to put up assists and goals... F**k me.

Next thing you know people are blaming Salah for not putting in enough tackles, blocks and interceptions in and around his own box  :lmao:!

Always looking for something to slap him with, unbelievable. He's not worldclass, but he does his job pretty well and always gives it his all. That's all you can ask.

Thought that was a pretty professional half. Tried to move it around with pace and purpose, some poor touches but I'd honestly put some (not all) of it down to the circumstances. It's F***ing freezing out there, not easy for the lads.

Just crack on in the second half and get that second goal on the board.

Not often we see it! Feel like Reina was in goal the last time one of our keepers made a save like that!

All you've gotta ask is how many times has he been by their box?

I guarantee if Milner was playing in Henderson's position he'd have been up there a lot more.

I just think Henderson is so limited in most areas of his game.

sh*t house in the challenge. Can't or won't carry the ball and only plays the safe pass on most occasions.

To those who say he has made more attacking passes than anyone else, what has come of them.

No seriously, in modern football. You even expect cb to get you a goal or two in a season.
And have you seen firmino running back and defending and putting in tackles and defend.

This isn't the 60's, you have liquid formation where players change the sides in the game. Like Salah and måne changing sides in the game.

And who says a DM shouldn't provide a assist and goal here and there? Seriously I do like Hendo as a person. He is a pro and just do his job but that doesn't mean he is good enough for us to start every game. We can't defend our players, just because they play for us. At a Liverpool forum, people should be able to say who aren't good enough.

He's done those and some very crisp passes dissecting the Newcastle midfield, more than Can or O.C.

I give up, I also went through a phase where I defended players who I knew weren't good enough but never admitted.
kuyt on right wing and skrtel. Guess it's other people who are going through same phase.

The Hendo discussion is interesting, but my issue with him is how far out of position he is without the ball time and again - and that's when we have the ball and when we don't.

He's the base of the midfield. Don't get dragged out. If you do, the whole defence is exposed.

      Does my tits.

Hope to see Lallana at some point in place of Can who looks so ponderous with the ball at his feet.

Hell even Jimmy would be better  :D

Difficult half that which was to be expected with Rafa,he stifled our tempo & play but we got that all
Important goal, would be great if we manage to get another one early in the second half, just seen the replay  of the save from karius & it was a fantastic save.
