This will be a very interesting tie. I expect some high quality attacking football and anticipate a close affair with the ones taking their chances going through.
Time to stand up and be counted Redmen.

Odds are against us being away from home last and with the Everton game sandwiched in the middle.

Klopp won't weaken his side, its just not his way.

Heaven forbid millionaire footballers being asked to play 3 games in a week

      Don't think it's the asking...I think it's the doing.

And you are crazy if you don't think 3 games at full tilt, heavy metal football isn't a pretty big ask of any player in a weeks time.

Yeah they'll happily do it, but the hundreds of thousands wont change how their bodies hold up.

Just to point out, we've beaten them once, and, scoreline aside, in a convincing manner. We were all over them before Mane got sent off and since both of these games we've made significant defensive improvements through Van Dijk and Karius. If you want to be the best you've got to beat the best and I see no reason why we should fear City.

Not the ideal draw, but we have beaten them once and only lost cos we were down to 10 men.  We can do this!!!!

Must admit I didn't expect that draw at all & least of all the first leg at anfield So a bit of a double whammy really, pep will deffo rest players before The first leg of that I'm sure, they do have a slight advantage in the  respect that the league is practically done & dusted  & the fact the return leg is at there place, one thing we have to do is take a  lead to there place ,city ain't super human as we proved when we stuck 4 past them in double quick time & im confident we can get through to the semis.

Agree it should be. Is that a given?

Hard to predict what will be the final score over the two legs this one. Of course Man City are the stronger side but equally we do like playing against sides like them (and vice versa). Going to have to use every ounce of sweat and concentration for this one.

Get what you're saying mate, but Madrid have been doing a "City" long before City tried it! Madrid have, since the beginning of the European cup/ Champions league tried to outspend all the other clubs to ensure success. That's the most Likely way to achieve it unfortunately!

Anyway, I would much prefer to play Sevilla than ANY other team, but they seem to have the Angles smiling for them in the CL so far, so maybe it's best to avoid them, there's always a surprise team, and maybe it's them this season.
Give me Roma instead then, but whoever we face I cant fecking wait! Bring it on!

Yeah but Madrid's status was built on their greatness way back in the 50s - incomparable to Man City in that sense. Remember they were already 6 time winners of the competition by the time we won our first of these.

No worries, they're doing it on purpose so that we'll dump one or both along the way.

Actually they have a couple of times, steve mcmanaman scored in the camp nou and then a couple of years ago messi scored 2 in the burnacow

Pepe won't change the way he sets his team up which makes it pretty much the same end to end heart stopping football game as in the league game back in January.

Both legs will be full throttle from both sides.

As Brian Clough once said "It only takes a second to score a goal"

I can honestly see this result over two legs ending 8-8 and going to penalties :o ;D

      Betablockers anyone?

Would have rather have had Roma, or sevilla og even barca then city. We are too familier with each other. That said, I really hope we win against them. How sweet would it be to put city out of the champions league.

Yes, and Klopp not too happy about it, I guess he means the time rather than the day, unless he wants the match pushed back to later in April or something (but hopefully we will have semifinal matches to play then).

I guess switching to March 24th isn't an option at this date.

Gotta be honest, City are the last team I would've picked. That's not to say we can't beat them, we can, and have done.
But they are strong - and reckon it's more interesting going up against the non-English teams, we know the home teams so bloody well already.
Went for Madrid in the poll, not to be.

They'll be favourites, but likely won't be too delighted to have drawn us either.
We just need to be as up for the ties as we were for the home game against them in the PL.
Massive couple of games to look forward to :)

We have to beat some good teams along the way to win it.
So bring em on !! :)

We'll know how much our defence has improved, by the end of this tie.

The league derby had to be moved. There was no other date available.

I still don't know why the Stoke game is dependent on what happens in the quarter final.

Fairly sure it ended with them almost equalising?

Having thought about it I'm not too bothered about home first. Last two knockouts in this season have been damp squibs at home thanks to our dominant away performance.
