UEFA CL Semi Final - Who do you want? (Spoiler, it's AS Roma)

We are in the semis. No draw was going to be easy.

Bayern - one of the best goalkeepers in world football, exceptionally strong defensively, excellent front players and lethal striker
Madrid - not much needed to say. They have won it 3 times in last 4 years and have Ronaldo
Roma - strong Italian side not reliant on individuals who will have no fear after what they did to Barca but maybe just maybe they caight Barca on the hop.

Yep, as I said, every team will be difficult, but Roma's style of play differs from Bayern and Real, and we generally fair better against attacking teams, so therefore Roma could be a more difficult match.

Whom do they want in the final, TV wise probably us and Madrid. UEFA hierarchy probably Madrid and Bayern. In any event it wont be Roma versus Liverpool in the Semi. It will be Liverpool v Bayern and Roma v Madrid. That will optimise the outcome for UEFA. Bayern will be the home team in the second leg, I think.

On the basis of......may be playing them twice as opposed to the one off final would give us a better chance of beating them. Hard to say one way or the other.

Are they a better team than Rome. Difficult to find anyone who would say Roma are better than Real. Could be Bayern will do a job on Ronaldo. Bet Bayern and Real wanted Roma for sure so we got the alleged weakest team of the other three.

Klopp won't see it that way. He'll prepare just the same no matter who we play.

Draw gives us a great chance of progressing but going to Rome for the second leg will be extremely tough.

Need to put this to bed in the first leg I think.

Roma completely bullied and out muscled Barca in the quarter final 2nd leg.
They will be tough, but think we are better technically.
No draw would've been easy.
Salah against former club - who would have predicted that.

I was at the Barca v Roma quarter final and to be honest there wasn’t much between the two teams. You don’t get into the semi final if you’re not decent.
Don’t know how Mo will approach this, will be difficult for him.

It's not rubbish, I remember a story from Rinat Dassaeyev the ex Russian keeper that when he did the draw it was cold and hot balls and if he pulled a certain team he went for a hot ball. Easily rigged.

No disrespect to Roma, they are a very good side, but of the 4 teams in the semis they are the weakest, so on that basis this is a great draw for us.
They may try to park the bus at Anfield but that didn't really work out to well for them at the Nou camp did it. What we need to be is very careful with is the return leg, if they get all fired up like they did against Barca then it will be scary but then again we stared down Citeh at their place and ended up winning so bring it the f**k on!!
In the other semi I actually fancy Bayern to progress so it could be one hell of a final, Liverpool against Bayern Munich hopefully with sweet revenge for Jürgen, but one game at a time :-)

I am actually feeling less confident going into this game than I was vs City.

My birthday on the day of the 2nd Leg.

Roma are a fine team but I really do think people are letting the Barca result colour their judgements. City are a better team in every respect compared to Roma and we beat them 5-1 on aggregate.

It is however crucial that we get a good lead going into the second leg.

Not suggesting it will be easy but I said all along that if we can beat City then we have a real change of winning the whole thing and I stand by that. You cannot dispute that City are a better side than Roma. Anyway I'm hoping we have seen peak Roma and they return to normal form over the 2 legs.

Roma have a busy fixture list and will need to shift games around and can't afford to rest players in the league. We've got a buffer in the league right now, but I think we should be moving the west brom game a couple of days earlier.

Can't believe some think this is a harder fixture than Real.

This is the easiest draw no question especially over two legs.

Salah knows this team well and knows it's weaknesses.

I'm personally delighted with the draw.
