UEFA CL Semi Final - Who do you want? (Spoiler, it's AS Roma)

Roma have a busy fixture list and will need to shift games around and can't afford to rest players in the league. We've got a buffer in the league right now, but I think we should be moving the west brom game a couple of days earlier.

Hopefully Chelsea can lose or draw a few games before then so that we can relax a bit with the league. I think Chelsea's next 3 games are away from home as well, and against teams which are fighting against relegation.

When will they define the exact dates that we play?! I need to know that to decide if I fly to Liverpool or not

Nah. Time and money are both limited. Suggest you fly straight to Kiev on the 26 May to maximise your resources.

Can't believe some think this is a harder fixture than Real.

This is the easiest draw no question especially over two legs.

Salah knows this team well and knows it's weaknesses.

I'm personally delighted with the draw.

It could be harder. I have seen it so many times where we have been faves and lost. I am not counting my chickens just yet.

Agree, Roma was one of the teams all wanted for the last two rounds, and I'm sure Bayern or Real would love to trade places with us right now.

They're a decent team, but we're a better side. Even though I don't like the role of favourites, we are and by a lot.

At home, we conceded twice against Hoffenheim and Sevilla, and thats it! All games post that have been clean sheets. I'm quite confident in our set up and probably would shut them off but guess they'll set up more rigidly and try to strangle us, frustrate us, will hope we get desperate and lose our defensive shape gradually!

That's probably the tricky part I guess.. An early goal would do wonders!

It really doesn't matter who we play. Our team right now can smash anyone into pieces. We did Real 5-0 on aggregate in 2009. Similar confidence.

Heard all that rubbish before. The draw is never rigged. It's an open draw, and we have an equal chance of getting any of the opposition. And whoever we get, we have to get on with it.

There are two draws. One for the semi finals, and another to determine which semi final winner is the "home" side in the final. With 3 teams wearing red, it might be important to be the "home" side, as we've won every European Cup in red.

Been watching highlights of Istanbul. Hopefully doesn't take a miracle this time but I'm getting pumped.

This team should have enough in attack to beat Roma comfortably. Regardless of what happens, this has been a dream campaign in the Champions League and the team is at a point where you actually think of winning it all.

Read that this is our 10th semi-final, won 7 and lost 2, impressive record.

Would honestly have preferred Madrid. Two reasons really.  Not sure being favourites is something that will sit comfortably with us at this stage and also I think we would have more chance to knock Madrid out over two legs than a one off game.

Also would rather our fans didn't have to go out to Rome.

However, despite the favourites tag and again having the first leg at home, we've got a good chance to get through.  I think we're capable of beating them away if it's required.

Sure you won't be having second thoughts about it after the semis?

It's going to be an awesome tie with two stunning but very different atmospheres in store at Anfield and the Stadio Olimpico. Are we favourites? The bookies may say so but at this stage, especially with the influence of the atmosphere at both stadiums, there really are no favourites. Just watching the highlights of our first leg 3-0 victory over Man City at home and Roma's second leg 3-0 victory over Barcelona and you realise both teams were possessed and entranced by their respective home support. It really could come down to which team best siphons that energy from the crowd. This is what European football is all about.

So glad we got Roma mainly for the fact of us being able to play at home and at their stadium, will be proper European football atmosphere, and we can beat either Real/Bayern in a one off game I reckon... but first, show Roma some respect, but not too much, and let’s get past them!

Don't think anyone thinks that they're better, more of a style thing for me. Not that I watch loads of them. I'm going off the basis of the very little I've seen and what I read others saying about their styles.

Real or Roma would've been fine, for me. It was Bayern I didn't want in the Semi.

The way I'm looking at it is Barcelona put 4 past them at home, Chelsea scored 3 and Atl.Madrid beat them 2-0.

If we play like we can, we are the better side and win the tie. We are the better the team and are favorites to progress for a reason.

Now make it happen Reds and MAKE US DREAM!
