UEFA CL Semi Final - Who do you want? (Spoiler, it's AS Roma)

Holy crap its definitely on again. Not expecting anything other than a nail biting 2 legs but we have to see this as a wonderful opportunity.
I fancy Bayern to give Real a really good semi final to close to call.

The atmosphere will ensure we start hard and fast at home, hopefully bagging some quality goals.

Second leg will be F***ing mental but we have the best counter attacking team in the world and the 3 boys will be absolutely buzzing to get on that scoresheet.

Going to be amazing to watch.

Anyone done Boston Celtics v Boston Red Sox yet? Wonder if they'll hype it over here.

I actually think that Bayern will turn over Real Madrid  and we will beat Bayern in the final.
(Understand that we will be the "away" team in the final so change of strip if it is)

I'm a long standing admirer of Robben and the whole team ooze with class but one thing they haven't got is energy and legs which ...with our team ... the second youngest in the Premier League ...we do have.

After pinching myself I have come to realise that we are at the start of  renaissance of our club.
We reached two finals last year but missed out and that was with some crap players.
This team is only going to get better ...to mature ...and to build telepathy.

The future's so bright ..... where's me feckin' shades?

Would honestly have preferred Madrid. Two reasons really.  Not sure being favourites is something that will sit comfortably with us at this stage and also I think we would have more chance to knock Madrid out over two legs than a one off game.

Also would rather our fans didn't have to go out to Rome.

However, despite the favourites tag and again having the first leg at home, we've got a good chance to get through.  I think we're capable of beating them away if it's required.

Agree completely JD. I would not do want to go to Rome either. They are much harder that it looks.

Think Roma will try and hold us over the first leg and try and sneak one in the second leg. Typical Italian style

But the draw isn't fixed. I've been watching football draws at all levels of football for 30 years, and hundreds of football people draw teams out. I've never seen anything fixed. Even if you could fix it a certain way, shocks and surprise results are still part and parcel of cup football, so you can't guarantee the outcome you want.

I would rather have saved Roma for the final tbh, but the first leg is just 10 days away, and the last time we had the first leg at home and won the final was 1984.

But Roma are the away goal kings this year, so we'll probably have to get results in both games to get through. Hope the fans are safe out there, get out of that Olympic Stadium safely, and can go to another beautiful Olympic Stadium in Kiev.

I suspected it with around 33.3% expectation.

Roma were the team I actually wanted to avoid if possible, think Madrid would be an easier game; they have a questionable defence and other than Ronaldo, their frontline struggles for goals this season and Isco barely plays. My main concern from Madrid would have been Modric and Kroos.

But F**k it, let’s do Roma instead.

I very happy with this tie. We have the best chance to reach the final, I'm not saying they will roll-over but we should give them some respect but not too much.

Petrified We shouldn't! We are more than capable to play in their ground. If we have the right mind-set we will progress!

Am surprised to see Agee wishing we were playing Amadeus in the semi. I know they struggled for a couple of months earlier in the season but they've been a completely different team the last few months and they always perform in this competition having won it 3 of the last 4 years and on the brink of another final. Roma was head and shoulders the best draw for us but of course it will still be difficult.
