Pre-Match: Liverpool v Roma Champions League Semi-Final

Going for 2-0 to the Redmen here.

This is going to be no easy game and we are going to have to match the intensity from the City game and assert ourselves from the off. Roma have a strong midfield and we will need to keep an eye on Nainggolan breaking out. Dzeko was colossal in the last game against Barcelona and shutting him down will also be key.

Nervous as F**k for this one, another Champions League semi final and if we perform to the level we are capable of then it will be onto the Final.

Our home crowd play such a massive part on European nights, hopefully they can choke Roma, as they did City.

Can't see us winning as convincingly as we've done in the first leg of the last two rounds but think we'll get a win of some sort to take to Rome next week.

The boys at outside back who made the worst errors toward the end on Saturday will not be on the pitch tonight. Defense will be alright. Yes, Roma have good players, but better than City? I don't think so. It's OK to accept the fact by now that this team of ours is really, REALLY good - with a GREAT manager. Things this big are not supposed to be easy, but we have got what it takes. I'd like to see Mane and Salah interchange a bit more. Most games in the Prem don't warrant it but in the C/L I think we need to be a bit more flexible. Salah has tended to play closer to Firmino since Coutinho left. This sometimes leaves so much space down that right hand side which is why TAA has shown up well. He has space to work in. Gomez as well, but he has been slightly less effective as TAA.

As well as Salah playing closer to the old inside right position I'd like to see him go a bit wider to get a bit more space and to see more ball, on occasion. Being flexible will be important when we are getting frozen out. Doesn't happen to often but we may need to do that tonight.
