That really was something to behold, imagine the scenes if we did a pre season there.

An unbelievable ending to a game, where the Reds were seemingly in cruise control, being 5  0 up. Letting in 2 goals, the second a debatable penalty, somewhat letting Roma back into the tie. These defensive issues will not go away. We now have a whole week to wait for the outcome of this intriguing tie, which hopefully will see the Reds in another European final.

Lets hope we place 100% concentration from the start of the whistle for the 2nd leg. Roma will come out with guns blazing and if they score an early goal, i will be at the edge of the seat. If we score first then it will put a big dent in their hopes. They will need to come at us in the 2nd leg at some point of time in the game and that's where we tak advantage of. It is only half time and we need to keep our composure and attack them with speed and aggression. Their defence is not one of the fastest and toughest. But, we must not underestimate them. 2 more matches to the holy grail and I will take it one at the time, one down, 2 to go.

Will be a tough match away, but we have too much for them.
Think I'm right in saying that Roma haven't conceded a home goal in this Champions league campaign, stand to be corrected on that one.

Hope the lad who was attacked pulls through, they really are scumbags.

Yes, you’re correct, they haven’t conceded a goal at home.

      Group Stage
      V Altetico Madrid 0-0
      V Chelsea 3-0
      V Qarabag 1-0

      Round of 16
      V Shakhtar 1-0

      Quarter finals
      V Barcelona 3-0

I’m more confident now than I was the second leg against City. We outplayed them for ~70 minutes, and the game easily could have ended 7-0. Don’t think they can’t pull another miracle like they did last time,  we’ll win 2-1.

We had 3 yellows yesterday TAA, Lovren and Milner they have no be careful next week, players missing the final is my biggest worry for the game.

We will make it to the finals. No way we're not scoring when we play Roma away..

      One thing though..

Every time we take Salah off, the opposition get a lifeline and come back swinging. It happened with, bottom of the table, West Brom. It's happened again with Roma.

      We should learn from this.

And play him in every minute of every game?

      Really?

He’s being looked after. Him going off had nothing to do with it.

Yes the game changed after it.......but that was 6 mins later when they scored from a misjudgement by the defence.

That’s what changed it - a defensive error, nothing else.

Gutted to lose two goals, one of which was dodgy, but all the pressure is on Roma, they need at least three and have to keep us out. Coyr

F**k I must be insane I've watched the replay of the whole game once and the second half twice and that was breathtaking football right up until the 80th minute.

What a joy we are to watch when we get going Roma are chasing a 3 goal deficit they will need to go for it and that will suit us down to a tee the way we play.

Brilliant result...regardless of the goals conceded, we have a 3 Goal lead heading into a second leg of a semi final. There can be no greater motivation to get an away goal in Rome, to put this tie to bed. We did a professional job over City, who have technically superior players to us, so i see no reason why we cant do the same to Roma.
All i hope for is a clean bill of health for our remaining squad heading into this season's end.
How good is Mo Salah !!!

Yellow cards no longer accumulate at this stage. Only a red on Wedesday would suspend someone for the final.

Oh, my bad then, thats good news.

I was under the impression that so a player misses the final if he gets two yellow in both semi games, because they were cleared after the quarter finals.

That’s how 5Live described it last night. A yellow in both semis and you’re out of the final.

Hell of a performance last night, Mo's first was F***ing unreal, looked like the goals Barnes used to score. Firmino was absolutely superb they way he kept hold of the ball and released Mo for his second. Salah then tore Roma a new one one in the second half, was literally on fire with his two assists for Mane and Firmino and still can't understand why Klopp subbed Salah, he was one of our main threats and Roma were panicking every time he got the ball.

Good goal by Dzeko, but thought the pen was a bit harsh.

Great win though and I still think we're good enough to score a goal or two over there.

I thought two yellow yellows carried a suspension but it's three actually so yeah, only a red could make them miss the final.

Hangover just about gone now but the sore throat is still in place.
What a night, a real history making night and the noise was just superb. I cant imagine anyone not taking a 5-2 lead into the second leg I would have been happy at 0-0. We will not sit back in Rome we will try to win the game and it is perfectly set up for us.
Just beat Stoke on Saturday and more or less secure CL football for next season and then look forward to Wednesday its a great time to be a Liverpool supporter.
