 Danny Ings starts up front as Jürgen Klopp makes five changes to his Liverpool team for the Premier League clash with Stoke City.

The striker, who scored the opener at West Bromwich Albion a week ago, makes his first start at Anfield since October 1, 2015.

Joe Gomez, Ragnar Klavan, Alberto Moreno and Georginio Wijnaldum also come into the XI as the Reds aim to move closer to Champions League qualification.

Sadio Mane is absent from the squad after sustaining an injury this week.

Lets hope Moreno has his first good game for us today, and contributes something from midfield.

That's not fair, he had a good season before his injury. I'm not his fan but he was good before Robertson took his chance!

Iv a feeling it could be Trent in midfield , I wouldnt mind seeing that.

Salah might have been rested had Mane been fit but we should have enought to see Stoke off. Moreno playing as a wing back with TAA on t'other side.

Danny hasn't had that many chances but he is a predatory striker, not a winger. Firmino doesn't play as a winger and Salah has been playing inside of late so I fully expect the front 3 to bump into eack other.

Not liking the make up of the defence, Gomez, Moreno and Klavan were poor last week, shows how frail our back ups are.

I was wondering if he was in midfield. Klopp did mention about being clever with the squad but not sure now is the time to start experimenting.

Either way, think the boy has all the ability in the world and will give it his best shot.

If we win here, we could be in top 4 for sure, with a little help from the Swans.

I have faith in that line up. Klav has done well and has kept himself mentally fit when called on. Gomez has great potential and can learn from VVD. Moreno is under most pressure. He does lose the plot but he is well capable of putting in a good solid performace.

Yeah...could be sink or swim for Trent today.

Looks like 4-4-2 to me, with Moreno as a winger and Gomez at LB. ( Or he might go 3-5-2, with Firmino maybe in midfield and TAA + Moreno as wingbacks). Either way, somewhat risky selection at the back with top 4 still not certain. He must think Robbo needs a rest, which is fair enough. Should still win.

(I'd like to see the 4-4-2, with just a Klavan + VVD partnership, with a view to that partnership maybe in Rome.

Yes, and then hopefully we will remain focused for 90 minutes and see it through.

If the match progresses well, I would expect Klopp to sub off Trent, Bobby and Mo with Clyne, Solanke and Woodburn coming on, but for us, "secure" seems to have a much more lopsided look to it. Getting all the points is the main thing.

Let's no turn this into a how bad or how good Moreno is . He is neither just an average player but whilst wearing the red of  Liverpool just back him up please

And yet Klopp started Moreno as first choice laft back at the start of the season. I'm well aware of Moreno's limitations but I'm not going to knock him every time his name is mentioned.
