While it's still very early, did the bubble burst on transfer fees? 50M for Fekir? That seems ridiculously low in the post-Neymar era where Dembele costs 100M

Maybe so. I think even aggressive owners maybe took a look at the last two windows and how exponentially higher the ceiling rose, and said this is unsustainable. Remember there was some funny business with the Neymar transfer - wasn't it more personal buyout than straight transfer fee or something? Plus Nike was involved so...funny money. Remember also most clubs are not affected either way by the Neymar transfer (although Liverpool are bcz of the Phil fee).

With the signings we have been making recently it makes you wonder if FSG never really trusted Rodgers or was it that the top talent would not be tempted by Rodgers/ our position of not being in CL for so long.

Was saying it at the time. Ayres and Rodgers were operating on different (and inferior) wavelengths.

Ayres was a good businessman but had too many footballing decisions to make for someone who wasn’t a football guy.

Rodgers was out of his depth.

This is how a well-oiled machine operates. Get in!

      Edwards is playing a blinder!

The additions to the team and a vastly superior midfield full of silky ball-players excites the hell out of me!

Thank God there's a World Cup about to begin for distraction otherwise the wait for the new season would've been excruciating.

If we land a top keeper as well. it could be the best transfer window since '87-88.  ;D

BBC running the story, should be a formality at this point. I’m on a plane from San Jose to Atlanta. I expect a lean by the time I land tomorrow morning at 6:15am.

      Get it done!

I’m thinking it’s the standard lean against an object when a new player is unveiled, but could be wrong.

The moment a report on a transfer makes it onto to BBC Sport is the moment I relax and celebrate and that moment is here!

Looks like a really good player.

Another very good signing.  Assuming we keep all key personnel and can add a top GK & CB, we'll be right in the mix once the new guys settle in.

Awesome to see how decisive we've been so early in the window this time.  A real show of intent to the world, methinks!

Already looking forward to the start of next season!
      Exciting times ahead!!

Basically they are denying any agreement with us over Fekir

      False information over the agreement
      Categorically deny it

      No lean today it seems
