L'equipe allegedly reporting that we will contact lyon officially after saturday

This is what's confusing about the transfer rumors. How can it be "99% done" if we have not officially contacted Lyon? Perhaps 99% done with the player, and now all that's left is agree on a fee with the club? but wouldn't that be tapping up the player?  ???

We can get permission to speak if the club allows.

Either way... until he’s doing the Melwood Lean, I’m not celebrating.

I love the profile of players we are linked with since Klopp took over.

Only a few short years ago we were signing dross like Borini, Downing and Charlie Adams.

Now we finally have a manager who can attract the best young talent in Europe.

Bugger, that gives Spurs a whole week to get a counter offer in!! There must be some sort of pre agreement in place, I certainly bloody hope so.

Fekir would be a classy signing, skill and strength!

Its absolutely mouth watering thinking about the different Ps & Cs in terms of the formation that Jürgen is potentially gonna play, with the addition of Fekir, Keita and possibly another wide forward! We'll have quality players for a 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-2-2-2, 4-4-2 diamond, etc, etc.

For the first time ever, I'm breathing easy this summer w.r.t. player additions! Just hoping and praying for a faster Ox recovery!

Not going to get carried away with the “names” we are attracting as I feel we do this every year and, quite often, we end up with players like Lazar Markovic, who we expected the world of.

What I would say though is, if this is Klopp’s man, then I have absolute trust in our manager to get the best out of him. If I had had it my way, we would not have signed Sadio. I then had the audacity to question the boss once again with the signing of Mo. Not again.

One day we are 99% set to sign him (despite having yet to make an offer), the next it’s dismissed.

      Joys of silly season.

Granted its only youtube but watching some vids of fekir and fook me I'm salivating at the prospect of keita fekir and ox in our midfield next year, it may not be the biggest midfield but damn there would be some physicality and athleticism right there:
                 Keita   Fekir
                          Ox
              Mane Bobby Salah

That is a truly horrible team to play against

      Good thing we are rich.

Not to mention I think he says the same thing before selling every big player they’ve had. The guy is an attention whore and they are a selling club.

Not sure that is a dismissal as much as an effort to drive up the transfer fee.

Same way, Talisco might be a counterweight from our side. Who knows?

I would like to see us sign Fekir though.

A deal couldn't have been 99% complete with there being no contact, so by Lyon saying there has been no contact, it's dismissing that.

But it's silly season and who knows what to believe, until they've signed on the dotted line, don't really believe any of it and don't get my hopes up.

Am I the only one not excited ? I  haven't really seen Fekir play tbh, just YT clips, and when I watched Lacazette before, I don't really remember him at all.

One of the most shrewd owners out there.

He will bend us over if we really want the guy.

Can see him getting 80m + from us.

Well so far he hasn't bent anyone over, so i doubt it. It's a shame Lyon (and Monaco) is just a feeder club. Lyon has sold Umtiti, Lacazette and Tolisso for about 120M EUR combined, still less than what we were able to get out of Barcelona for Coutinho despite the player sitting out and pointing to where he wanted to go leaving us with little leverage.

You need to remember the finances involved. Our turnover, whilst nowhere near as much as say Man Utd is 2.5-3 times as much as Lyon. So them getting £50m put on the table for Lacazette is equivalent to us getting £100m+ out of Barca for Coutinho
They also operate in a league where £50M goes a hell of a lot further than in the PL

I'm going more by some other comments and reports and Klopp's kind of comic non-denial last weekend. I also don't believe everything club officials say (including ours). But I agree with you about "who knows what to believe." I wish I could just check out after we win Saturday night and tune in again when preseason matches begin and see who is on the roster - but I'm never able to do that.

when i Googled it the first thing I saw is that there are four places in my city that offer it - which upon reading what it is - conforms my suspicions that the apocalypse is upon us.

On the other hand, I work up this morning worrying about the  match so maybe I should give it a go for the next few days.

Pardon my skepticism about this "medical" trend. It does seem to work effectively in removing warts, however.

Actually reading their chairman's comments in full context this morning, it does seem like this is more of a rumour than a strong possibility. And now your words about not getting hopes up ring even truer. I never learn.
