Liverpool 4-0 Brighton & Hove Albion: In game and Post Match discussion

We're in place at Anfield on what is a hugely-important final day of the Premier League season. Barring a miraculous turn of events at St James' Park, where Chelsea meet Newcastle United, the Reds know they need a point against Brighton and Hove Albion to secure a top-four finish.

      Line-up:

      Did you know...?

Liverpool head into today's game seeking to go a full league season unbeaten at home for only the second time in the last 30 years.

The feat was last achieved by Rafa Benitez's Reds in 2008-09 - that being just the 10th time in the club's history such a run had been put together.

      News:

Dominic Solanke starts against Brighton and Hove Albion as JĆ¼rgen Klopp makes two changes for Liverpool's final match of the Premier League season.

The 20-year-old striker comes into the XI for a game from which the Reds need at least a point to secure Champions League qualification, as does Jordan Henderson.

James Milner is absent from the matchday squad as a precaution after a muscle issue, while Nathaniel Clyne drops to the bench.

Adam Lallana is among the substitutes having returned to full training last week.

Liverpool: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Mane, Salah, Firmino, Solanke

Substitutes: Mignolet, Clyne, Klavan, Moreno, Lallana, Ings, Woodburn

Brighton: Ryan, Schelotto, Dunk, Bong, Duffy, Kayal, Prƶpper, Stephens, Locadia, March, Knockaert

Substitutes: Krul, Bruno, Gross, Goldson, Murray, Ulloa, Suttner

Been waiting for this game all F***ing week! Can't wait. I predict 4-0 and hopefully all 4 goals scored by Salah.

Makes sense resting Mane & Milner, hope Salah bags a couple at least and Solanke sheds that monkey, good to see Lallana on the bench , and gets some invaluable game time we'll need him on the 26th,

Love us to bag a shed load but would settle for a measly 1-0 , more important we win rather than by how many, just get the job done.....Simples !!

Kind of see this is a pretty flat 4-4-2. Firmino with a bit of a free role around Solanke as the front two. Salah pushing up and Mane tucking inside to provide the extra man in midfield. Honestly not sure though, could be similar to the 4-4-2 we played away at West-Ham earlier in the season where Solanke and Firmino drop into midfield and both Mane and Salah push up. Will be interesting to see how it plays out on the pitch.

Yes. 4-2-3-1 might work with Solanke playing ahead of our normal front three. Of course the system involves so much interchanging among the front players anyway, it almost doesn't matter where they are at kickoff.

Having said that 4-1 tp the redmen. Salah and Mane braces.

Anyone wondering why Woodburn isn't playing should watch more of the 23s

If he trains like he's been playing then no wonder he's not been given any game time

ā€œItā€™s a little injury. Itā€™s serious enough to put him out for today; he couldnā€™t train the whole week,ā€ Klopp said of Milner before kick-off.

Probably won't be a fast-paced, heavy metal game. We'll be in the Brighton half most of the time and just looking for that opening. I expect Solanke will be employed as a tank, drawing defenders in front of goal, hopefully holding up the ball now and then and creating space for the others to strike.

I think itā€™s a bit of a stretch comparing Ox, Mo, Mane and Firmino to Solanke. They are players who have shown they can perform at the highest level and were wrongly criticised as they clearly had the talent. Solanke is yet to show any signs of talent at this level. Hereā€™s hoping today he does but Iā€™m not holding my breath
