I thought he was poor. Covered ground but got nowhere near Chelseas midfield and I thought he was a bit crap on the ball too.

He looks a bit off the pace which is expected and obviously why klopp hasn't put him in for league games just yet.

He needs more minutes against the smaller clubs at home before we throw him into some big games.

I agree, the potential is there for all to see but he lacks the urgency of the other lads at the moment. I was also quite pissed off that he didn't dive in to block Hazard's goal, even if he gave away a penalty it would have been worth the attempt.

All in all I think there is a very good player there but he needs a bit more time.

I thought he had a very tidy game, especially for his first competitive start. Good touch, composed, fitness was there - like the look of him.

Looked like a defender playing in midfield.
Sometimes played too tight, which left us exposed in the channels a bit.
Might not have been an issue on another night had Moreno not been on the pitch.
      Small margins.

Struggled in the first half, settled and came more into the game second half, comfortable on the ball when in possession, but can see why Klopp has waited to fully blood him into the team.

Could be wrong as I watched it on the telly but I found his lack of speed a bit concerning.

      Same here.

Some nice passes, but looked very slow.

I agree, despite a slow start and getting accustomized to the pace of the game first 20-30 mins, he was still good, and gradually grew into the game and improved.

I thought he was looked cumbersome and well off the pace during the first half. Was much improved in the 2nd half and clearly his confidence grew.

It's unfortunate for him and players such as Clyne that we are out of the competition because it will likely mean less minutes for them this side of Christmas.

I think it’s also worth mentioning that he was the DM in front of a makeshift back 5. Can you imagine the difference playing in front of VVD and Robertson as opposed to Lovren and Moreno (no disrespect but there is a huge gap in quality). Look how much better Wijnaldum has looked since we had a settled back 5.

Don't think so, more a case of him needing time to adjust to the pace of the game here and settling into the team.

Couple of times he seemed to get caught in possession, but again I think that is down to adapting to the pace of the game in this country.

Yep I agree mate but you've been around this forum long enough to know some on here are probably thinking he's sh*t already!

Not sure anybody thinks he is sh*t, just some concerns over his pace, but I'm sure he'll get up to speed sooner rather than later, I recall the same with Robertson last season with everyone wondering what the hell was going on, then when he finally came in he showed us exactly how bad Moreno was and is.
I saw enough from Fabinho in preseason to tell me he is a very good DM

If Klopp wanted him I'm sure there's a good reason for it. We just need to give him the time that he needs to adjust, as Klopp seems to have no problem in doing.

I, however, in my unending ignorance, am a little confused about him. Even if his game sharpens up he doesn't quite seem to have the engine that I have associated with Klopp-style midfielders so far. He looks a bit lanky and a bit cumbersome. So I'm curious of what he will add to the team when he's fully up to speed and has been fully klopperised.

Wouldn’t worry about him looking slow, Xabi and Didi were far from fast movers and they turned out alright.

Ultimately Fabinho was playing in front of a mediocre defence, put him in front of VVD and Gomez and he will no doubt look much better.

Obviously unaware of Hendo signing a new long term contract extension in recent weeks.
