Max Meyer earning Ā£170k a week at Palace! (I'm sure he got a nice signing on fee too) I get that he was free, but still....

      That cannot be right

That's crazy money for a keeper who is definitely not at Alisson's level.

Keeper record will be broken twice more yet then, which is great as it will taken the pressure of Alisson.

      Chelsea.
      Then Real Madrid.

Kepa is great gk with a lot of potential. Shame they won't buy Buttland for 30m would be much better haha :)

On other side, why nobody pay Oblak release clause...Maybe he doesn't fancy a move, cause he is way better than Kepa lad.

What kind of keeper is Kepa, is he similar to Alisson in terms of distribution or more defensive shot stopper style like Oblak?

Ā£70 million for a goalkeeper with "potential" these days.

      Sheesh.

I agree, that is batshit crazy, Alisson has at least demonstrated his ability at the highest level.

Yes it is. Good player. Not had best of time at real but a good player none the less. At Inter he looked the real deal.

Not sure myself, he could be decent enough but no better than the likes of Barkley IMO. Just another sideways signing. Canā€™t believe theyā€™ve now been reduced to loan signings. This deal literally works only in Madridā€™s favour; he plays bad and it could hamper the Chavs, plays well and Madrid get a fortune for him next year/keep him and get benefit of him.
Their midfield is a mess; Drinkwater, Barkley, Cesc, Bakayoko and now this guy. Jorginho hasnā€™t made the best of first impressions and seems as if itā€™s going to be a 1 man Kante midfield again.

Looks like Courtois sitting out for a move to Madrid forced Chelsea's hand to get a keeper asap. Holy crap.

Alisson is coming off 1 good (full) season in his career. He has not proven any more than Kepa who played 30 games from Bilbao last season. Difference is with the deadline being less than 2 days away and having to get a goalie, Chelsea needed the path of least resistance and that was a goalie with a release clause where you just cut a check.

Wow, you really don't like Alisson do you, I bet you can't wait for his first mistake so that you can start demanding Karius be reinstated.
Alisson is clearly a more established keeper than Kepa at club and international level.

Why are you so obsessed with Karius? i haven't mentioned him but you keep bringing him up. And is it not a fact that Alisson is coming off his first full, good season at Roma? The year before he had 10 games and in total played 59 games over his 2yrs in Roma across all competitions while Kepa had 53 starts for Bilbao the past 2 seasons. The reality is they are equally proven (ie. neither is fully proven) but you are a bit too sensitive about Alisson.

Alisson is the Brazilian No 1.
Keeping City's No 1 out of the National Team.

Kepa is blocked my the best goalie in the world, as would Alisson if De Gea was Brazilian.

Has nothing to do with being blocked by De Gea. Kepa is 23/24 and has made 1 appearance, not even playing friendlies. His first call up came because Pepe Reina was injured.
He isnā€™t in the potential bracket anymore, near on mid twenties isnā€™t potential, and for that money he has to already be performing at a top level. 6/7 clean sheets last season in a team thatā€™s relatively defensive and relatively strong. Heā€™s bounced around a few different clubs, to the lower division within the last couple years and is being vastly overrated by people that probably hadnā€™t even heard of him a few days ago. Oh, and his kicking is piss poor.

      Heā€™s not close to playing for Spain because he does stuff like this;

I agree, I think he is a huge downgrade from Courtois, Chelsea are significantly weakened by this
